Hazel's Hat
Wow... this is CREATIVE! I have never seen a scissor case quite like this -- and it is CHARMING!!! Offered in chart format, you get compete instructions and the chart to stitch this witch hat that doubles as a scissor case. Worked on a mangy gray linen, it is finished 3-dimensionally, and features DMC Memory Thread inside to give the hat band the stability to stand out. Can you see the little spider? He is hanging on there by a bit of Kreinik opalescent #4 braid -- it's his web! He is stitched over one thread, and features tiny beaded legs. Then, he has a super strong magnet in his body to cling to the scissors stored in the hat! Unbelieveably cute, he swings all over the place on his web-string!
The whole hat finishes approx 4-1/2 x 5, and is perfect for any black scissors you have. VERY UNIQUE, the model is quite impressive!!!!! I don't think it's hard to DO... I just love the fact that Susan could imagine and create this unique piece! A Stitched Trophy!

CROW
Oh My Gosh... Haven't I always wanted to stitch a big 'ol buzzard??? This little guy is just the cutest! He's almost 7 inches tall... and is perched on a STITCHED branch! Worked on the front and back, his beak opens to reveal felt needle pages. It has a strong magnet in there... and it clings to the scissors stored on his backside -- so his mouth is tactfully closed to gossip! See the leaves hanging from the branch? Those are handmade clay leaves... hung on there with beaded vines!
This whole thing is an exercise in creative needlework and finishing! Stitch this little guy and perch him among your pumpkins for the fall... put him onto a wreath... stick him to the frig... hide him on a bookshelf so anyone who is really studying your books will stumble upon him... ENCHANTING! (And he's a darn CROW!!!!) Offered as the chart with those clay leaves!

Elf-in-the-Box
Here's a cute little guy... he's constructed of 13 different little pieces... and will be QUITE the conversation piece at your house for many years to come!!! Each side of his little box is garnished with an old-fashioned toy of some sort, his top warns the risks of pouting... and with his great big smile... reminds you WHY this is good advice!
Stitched on 32ct White Belfast linen in red and green shades of silks, he stands approx 5 inches high. (My hands should give you a bit of perspective with that.) Offered as either the chart with finishing instructions and a stitching layout guide on the fabric, or a complete kit of linen, silks, beads, and those instructions... isn't this just quite the cutest little
thing!!!!!!?

Daisy Chain Needlework Case
This is a neat set of small pieces that all tuck neatly inside a very tailored and non-fussy (6 x 6 when closed) sewing case! From Acorn House, this is offered in either chart format or complete kit. Stitched on 1/4 yard of 40ct hand dyed Lentil Linen in Gloriana Silks, it features matching hand dyed silk ribbons to tie scissors and the mattresses in place, and some wool to make the daisy garnish. The large flowers are Cross Stitch, but you can see the smaller ones are simply long Eyelet stitches over 10 squares... and they look like little wispy pin wheels... GREAT texture.
In both the chart and kit, complete finishing instructions are provided, as well as the chart layout on the main cut of linen. The colors are soft buttermilks and honey, with soft antique white for the daisies! So, let your stash choose between the chart only or the kit of charts, linen and silk threads and ribbons, (which is a great value!)

Pretty Pretty Pleats
This is quite a unique little 3-1/2 inch round cushion that doubles as a tiny box to hold all its matching smalls! Stitched on hand-dyed Lakeside Linens 40ct Tarnished Silver, the Gloriana silks included with the kitted option are rich grapes and mossy greens. There is quite a bit of trellis-work in blending filament... I don't know if you can see the detail inside the pleats... but there it is!
Not *tons* of stitching in this set of cushion/box, needlebook, scissor keeper, mini-fob and pin keep... I see this as more of a 'finishing challenge!' (I am a non-sewer... so some of this stuff is way over my head... but I think if you like to measure, baste, clip, cut and whip carefully... you'll be in Finishing Heaven!) Offered as the chart only, or kitted with the linen (totally awesome!), silks, metallic and beads.
