Mistletoe Stocking from The Victoria Sampler
Geometric patterns grace the front of this stocking, rather than Santa flying through the sky! Quite a different design subject, this reminds me of the old Cross Stitch and Country Crafts *wallpaper* stockings, and Just Nan's vertical band sampler stockings. Offered as a leaflet, Mistletoe Stocking features bands of mistletoe, separated from the bands of Hardanger Embroidery by lots of specialty stitches. LOTS of texture and design interest... putting a dark lining behind your Hardanger really showcases your stitching talents!
Worked on 28ct Taupe Cashel Linen in STUNNING threads of #4 Vatican Gold Braid, Bordeaux Gloriana Silk, Moss Waterlilies, 4mm burgundy silk ribbon, white pearls, and cranberry, cream and gold beads, this is an elegant stocking presentation that finishes into a generous 10-1/2 x 16-2/3 inch piece. Perfect for Santa's treats! Offered as the leaflet, with linen and accs pack separately, use white perle cottons #8 and 12 from your stash, or add those packs!

The Shepherd's Bush Stocking Collection... 18 And Counting!!!
Wow... this is the most charming collection of Christmas Stockings... Shepherd's Bush has designed a new stocking every year -- 2010 will be the 18th edition! Always offered in leaflet format with separate charm packet... each stocking is named after a member of Tina and Terri's family!
Always stitched on 18ct Natural Linen with #5 Perle Cottons... a few feature Rainbow Gallery's Alpaca thread for hair, and in the recent years, the girls have started using more and more Weeks and Crescent Colours overdyed perle cottons. Our Stocking Cut of linen is a 'fat quarter', which measures 18 x 27 inches. There is plenty of extra room to make some smaller matching ornaments and such from the cut. We carry EVERYTHING for EVERY stocking... and can even recommend our very own Magic By Mona to sew together your stockings... in time for The Big Day! So, browse the collection, and enjoy! |

Kitty Kitty and Puppy Stockings

SamSarah continues her fun set of Christmas Stockings with something for the fur-lovers in your family -- or the little fur-balls, themselves!!! What makes these so unique from the other stocking designs that we carry are the Watercolor hand-dyed cottons used to stitch on the fun colors of 20ct Weeks hand-dyed linen!
Big, bold, eyecatching designs... these all look great from across the room... especially hanging from the mantle! Personalize the top with alphabet letter buttons, too! Puppy is stitched on 20ct Straw, Kitty is worked on 20ct Red Pear. Too Cute!

Gigantics from SamSarah Design Studio
This is a charming collection of stockings by Sam Sarah Studio's Patti O'Connor. VERY unusual in our world of stocking offerings... these are worked on Week's Dye Works 20ct Hand-dyed linen in Caron Collection's hand-dyed Watercolors #5 Perle Cottons. Brilliant, fresh colors, big and bold motifs, each is garnished with Scrabble-type clay initial tiles to spell the name! (Easy to change out of need to, as well!)
Anyway, see the 'movement' in the solid areas??? That is YOU stitching the threads in a circular fashion, rather than across the rows. The variegation in the threads adds SO MUCH interest, texture and depth. You can, of course, stitch these in solid DMC Perles if you aren't into the overdyeds... simply letting the bold designs speak for themselves! Very cute stockings -- different from all the others, all are offered as leaflets, and we carry all the fabrics and threads!

The Just Nan Stocking Collection
I just want to highlight -- in one place on our site -- Nan's lovely collection of Christmas Stockings. Each have been annual releases, and cover 8 years! Timeless designs, each is prettier than the last. Lots of verticall bands, pretty stitches, beads and crystals, you'll notice that the top bands do not feature names. If you like, you can add that to the top of each... but I like that small tag that can hang off the side... a really classy way to announce the owner!
The Angel Stocking features a center area that will fit ANY of Nan's 15 Annual Angels... so you have LOTS of choices for this one! (You could stitch the whole family angels, using the same main stocking design. This leaflet includes one angel design.)
Little Victor -- Nan's first grandson -- arrived almost 5 years ago, and his stocking does differ from the rest. He has that darling teddy bear, and lots of tiny motifs from Nan's other Christmas designs! More color for Victor -- he IS kind of a bold little personality -- so he deserves to be different from the rest!
Anyway, quite an eye-catching collection of elegant stockings, totally different from the usual whimsical stockings available... stunning hanging from an elegant, traditional mantle! Each is offered as the leaflet with embellishments.

The Bent Creek Collection
7 Stockings so far in this collections -- I wish we had a finished model of the newest one... I wanted all my pictures to be the same! CUTE, CUTE group -- each is stitched on 18ct Natural Linen in Gentle Art and Weeks hand-dyed flosses. You could always use Perle instead -- your preference. Easy charts, just precious designs!
The shape of these finished models are a bit 'stubby.' YOU CAN CHANGE THAT! Simply draw a different outside shaped template... even adding that little toe-reinforcement crescent of stitching like a real sock has would work for these! All are offered as leaflets, and feature separate clay embellishment packs.

Lizzie Kate's Stocking Collection
Three darling stockings from Linda, each of these are worked on 18ct Natural Linen in overdyeds and perles -- just like so many of our other offerings. Quick to stitch, these lend themselves well to lots of cute embellishments, and will hold Santa's treats beautifully!!!! Notice that each is shown finished as either ornaments or pillows as well! All are offered as charts, we carry all the necessary threads, fabrics and embellishments!

Christmas Stockings
from Birds of a Feather
One of the newest in this set of whimsically primitive Christmas Stockings... each of the four stockings is available as an individual leaflet. Stitched on 28ct hand-dyed linen, these finish a generous 14-ish by 23! (you'll need 1/4 yard of linen for each) So, so colorful, funky, and definitely unique... all are stitched using Weeks Dye works flosses in the most rich and yummy shades. As you can see, they definitely make a set, because of the checkered toes, heels, and cuffs... which offer plenty of room for personalization. Snow Day features a 4-ball snowman, and lots of little elves (you could put your kid's initials on their hats!). Although there are really tons of stitches in these... they are really, really endearing! (If fading over the years is a concern of yours, you may want to choose a Natural linen for these vs the hand-dyed.)

On the First Day of Christmas... from Prairie Moon
Prairie Moon has been working on this set of stockings for some time... and we are now up to the 4th Day! #1 Is pictured here... it companions Day Two. Days 3 and 4 feature more of the primitive village scenery, but with different trees and houses. Each Day has it's featured gift... #1 has the Partridge in the Pear Tree. #2 Features the Two Calling Birds... you get the idea!
Kind of the same, kind of different from each other, offered in chart format... each is stitched on 28ct linen in overdyeds, and finishes approx 15 inches high and 9 inches wide at the toe. Too late for Santa's 2007 Visit... these are perfect to begin as a set for a family that is NOT into 'frilly'! (To make identification easier... just put your cursor over the individual stocking images to see their names.)

Peace on Earth and I Saw Three Ships

Two crisp white doves against a deep sea blue background... and sailing ships floating amongst the rolling waves -- billowy clouds in the sky -- pretty pictures, these do present! Two charming miniature 2 x 2 stocking cuffs... both of these designs can be stitched and framed if you wish, but Linda shows tiny wool stocking ornaments (2 X 5) as finishing options.
Lovely color, subtle shading because of the overdyeds, each stocking pattern comes with the 40ct silk gauze, chart, and stocking cut-out templates and instructions for easy finishing. You'll need a schnigglet cut of our Weeks Wool to make the stocking, lots of great color options with that.

Glad Tidings Stocking
from Erica MichaelsErica Michaels' fifth Christmas Stocking design... this is rich and elegant! Stitched in size 5 Perle Cottons, the model uses a Watercolors thread to give the hand-dyed color variation you see. The diamond-patterned lines in the background are stitched in Soft-Sheen Fyrewerks -- a metallic from Rainbow Gallery that isn't really too bright and shiny, but adds the elegance! Measuring a generous 12 x 20 when finished... the chart inside is almost full size! The cardinal on the smaller stocking is really a punch needle design... the transfer for it is included too!!!

WOW... this 96-page softcover, full color book features 14 different full-sized Christmas Stocking charts! Candy Nutcracker, Jingle Bears, Santa Collage, Nostalgic Christmas, Snowman Sampler, Celestial Angel, Let it Snow, The Best of Christmas, Winter Scene, I Love Santas, Peace on Earth, Nativity, Cozy Christmas, and Gingerbread Mice...
You can see from the titles that contributing designers Linda Gillum, Barbara Baatz Hillman, Sandy Orton and Nancy Rossi have delivered quite a nice selection of GREAT stocking designs! All are basically the same size, all are coded for DMC, all can be stitched on any fabric you like... and all are super-detailed and CLASSIC!

Donna Kooler's Ultimate Stocking Collection
This is a 96-page softcover book with charts for 15 different Christmas
Stockings by Linda Gillum, Barbara Baatz Hillman, Sandy Orton, and Nancy
Rossi. You may not recognize the designer's names, but you'll know their
work when you look at these cute designs! Darling and traditional, these
are the kinds of designs that are timeless!
You get a variety of designs from religious, to snow globes, The Night Before Christmas House, a Santa of the Forest, a Fisherman Santa, a Noah's Ark design, a Cat Stocking and a Dog one! There's an old fashioned piece of a girl sledding, a jolly snowman and Santa in his workshop, there's even a needleworker's stocking! All are beautifully photographed and clearly charted using DMC flosses. This book is a DEFINITE!!!

Better Homes & Gardens Heirloom Christmas Stockings
 Holy Cow... This wonderful softcover compilation of nine of the most favored Christmas Stocking patterns EVER published... is available again!!! Originally appearing annually in Cross Stitch and Country Crafts Magazines beginning in the late 1980's... we were treated to a new stocking every year... for 10-12ish, years, I think... until the Magazine and publishing rights ceased. For a few years following, leaflets of the stockings were available... then they stopped. Then this particular book came out... and it went out of print shortly thereafter.
So, to make a long story short, this collection has been very hard to get -- all at one time -- for quite some time!!! Beautiful pictures, nice charts, all in 64 pages! Even if your stash already has some of these charts, get this book!!! You'll never be sorry you did! Each stocking is stitched on 25ct Lugana and measures approx 11 x 17, stitched in DMC flosses. Definitely family heirlooms, the nine featured are the Workshop, North Woods, Music Room, Kitchen, Home, Sugar and Spice, Stitcher's Studio, Toys & Games, and Study!!!
