We invite you to our newest shop classes and special events!
We're going to try to keep all of the special events -- like special sales and the shows and festivals we attend, here, too... calendar of events on top, classes listed together at the bottom.
We offer individual instruction in a small-group setting. Our goal is to help you learn a particular technique in class, so when you are back home, on your own, you'll be able to apply your classroom experiences, and create something beautiful!
All of our classes include any necessary materials for your project. You are encouraged to bring scissors, and any favorite stitching "stuff" you'd like. We offer a beautiful stitching area, complete with lighted magnifiers... and top quality scissors. Please enjoy 'trying out' our things during class... you might find something you can't live without!!!
Each of our teachers has been associated with The Silver Needle for over 10 years... and I am proud to have them represent us! They bring a wealth of knowledge and information to you... and I know you'll learn a lot from them! Enjoy your class!
For those of you who travel far enough to stay overnight, here is a pdf listing nearby hotels for you.

A 'Smalls Set' of Needlebook, Scissor Case, Pin Cushion and Fob

Your class with Mona will be a blast! You will construct your needlework into ALL the specific shapes covered in each class. If you come with your stitching homework done, that is exceptional. If not... you can construct your shapes and pieces anyway... you'll just need to attach your finished stitchery onto fronts, rather than finished into the pieces. So EITHER WAY -- if you're organized or not -- she won't let you fail!!!
We design these Frenzy classes so you do not have to purchase anything ahead of time. Since both classes are happening in conjunction with our Bent Creek event this summer -- we are supplying freebie Bent Creek charts for your stitching. (Misc threads and fabric can come from your stash) Mona will send homework, charts, basic instruction now... you come to class... and leave with little stand-ups, ornaments, scissor cases -- which ever classes you took!
*** You do NOT need to be registered for our Bent Creek Weekend to enjoy Mona's Mini Frenzy Classes... but by the end of class... you
might wish you were! Anyway... taking reservations NOW, so we can send that homework!

*The Scoop* about Celebrations!
It was a BLAST! You'll remember that Celebration of Needlework went to St Charles MO last weekend... and there were 28 of us in the industry to 'exhibited' and hundreds of YOU who came, took a few classes, and spent money *with a comma*!
We LOVED the hotel room setting for booth set-up -- (Our 'frige and potty were right there!) Outlets galore... we even served White Sangria in our room for two days! (The shop gals finished the leftover marinated fruit as this afternoon's snack!) Shakespeare's Peddler brought a cargo-van full of stuff -- her room was like a Secret Lair of Hidden Cross Stitch Goodies! You just HAD to go in there and discover -- it was great!
Needle in a Haystack came all the way from CA -- and in this day and age of airline luggage fees and hotel drayage... she went above and beyond! Dixie Darlin had the cutest little wooden sleds to add perforated paper stitching to -- I bought some for ME!
There was virtually no inventory duplication between the rooms -- the variety of stuff was intoxicating! The life-sized blow-up mummy prop that was next door to us -- from the Fabric Flair guys -- got swiped Saturday night! (pranksters, not our show ladies!) The fundraising baskets at Saturday evening's event were overstuffed with amazing things. If anyone had money left-over, the downtown St Charles Shopping was a must! Stitches -- the local shop -- was in *high cotton*... and she came to the show *just to thank all of us - in person - for being there.* It was truly a lovely weekend!
We're definitely going back! So mark your calendar! Sept 20, 21 and 22, 2012. |

Many, Many Thanks
to all of you who came to Tulsa this past summer to enjoy Teresa Layman, Shakespeare's Peddler and Raise the Roof!!!!!
It was such a lovely few days... hot... but full of business, shopping, fun, laughter, good food, great friends, and WONDERFUL stitching!
Teresa Layman presented us an English Cottage Etui -- complete with miniature prickly hedgehog living inside! She brought her antique lace collection (and sold some of it!!!), and two of her handmade doll houses!
Shakespeare's Theresa brought her antique samplers -- we got to see what's up her designing sleeve next year! Both SP and Raise the Roof's Sue presented fun fob and needlecase projects... and of course, we DESTROYED some stitching (with adult supervision!) to learn how to manage it better, and make it really primitive.
Entirely TOO MUCH FUN... the White Sangrias and the Raspberry Martinis made an impression, too!!!

Gingerbread & Lace!
We hosted Teresa Layman for a two-part event in September 2010 that was *Wonderful!!!* Here are a few pics to show off the fun we had! Teresa treated us to a presentation about Antique Laces, AND taught us the EASY way to make French and Colonial Knots AND helped us all construct our very own miniature Gingerbread Houses garnished with our lovely class needlework!!!
We now have a new appreciation for antique laces... the history, scandels, and intrigue surrounding it... and loved her stories. Teresa has an antique lace collection, and part of it traveled to The Silver Needle for our fun weekend of stitching, knotting (and gluing!!!)

Presenting a few of our pics and some musings about our 2010 Weekend with Barb
and Alma from Blackbird Designs!
Presenting a few of our pics and some musings about our Weekend with Barb and Alma from Blackbird Designs! The girls came July 16th and 17th, 2010... and enchanted our group with a special project, lots of stories, and lots of great ideas to make any of our needlework even more special than it already is.
Mary-the-webmaster has made little slide shows to go with my words... so click that middle arrow below the pictures to make the little shows begin... click the middle icon again to stop a picture... (She told me all of you would *know that*... but I didn't!!!)
Our weekend was lovely! Enjoy our pics!

Silver Needle's *S.S. Alfredo* Mediterranean Cruise -- Summer 2010
Silver Needle sponsored a lovely trip to Spain, Italy and France aboard Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas, in June of 2010. We had a lovely time exploring Europe with our stitcher friends! Some husbands came along, but for the most part, our group consisted of ladies who all stitch together, or who met life-long friends now living miles away from each other.
Our trip was organized by a wonderful tour-lady -- Judy Bradford, of Expedia Cruiseship Centers -- who *does trips* with panache! Judy did all
the hard part -- all the flights, hotel bookings, transports -- all the yucky stuff. Silver Needle provided the stitching and the friendships! Spain, Italy and France all came through beautifully -- delivering us days and days of great shopping, perfect weather, awesome sightseeing, and lifelong memories!
I've chosen about 70 (of my 800-ish pics!) to share a bit of our trip with you. This was a challenge -- to pick JUST a few, not missing anything
really cool!!! So... lets see how I've done...
