Novelty Pewter Thimbles From Warwick, England, come these charming miniatures -- they are pewter castings made into thimbles. The first -- Gardener's Friend -- is a tiny birdbath. The bottom piece is the thimble, while the bird in the bath is the lift-off cover. The entire thing stands only 1-1/2 inches high -- the little bird on top is just precious! Next is a matching coffee and tea pot set. Too darn cute, the thimble hole is on the bottom of the pots. Each of their lids tilt open to reveal a pewter pin cushion -- so you can't really stick pins in them -- just enjoy them Definitely novelty thimbles... too hard to actually use... these are charming perched on a windowsill, interesting added to a shadowbox display, or a curiosity inside a framed needlework tool display. Darling little thimbles for a collector! The coffee pot is six-sided, the tea pot is plump and round. They each stand about an inch high.
English Casted Pewter Needlework Stations A darling miniature hand-casted pewter creation by A E Williams of England. Each is cuter than the last! This removable thimble has the same design as the Sewing Machine Station -- tape measures and sewing implements. Very heavy for it's size because it's solid pewter, it measures 2 x 2 x 2-1/2 inches high!
Miniature Scissor Blocks OHhhh... we have the cutest miniature scissor blocks! Made from assorted woods, these little 1-1/2 x 2 x 2-3/4 chunks feature a slanted top, complete with ruler slot. Along with that slot, notice the larger hole near the top? That holds a pair of 3-1/2 to 4-inch embroidery scissors. Then, notice the two smaller holes? They store needles. Each of them as a tiny magnet in their bottom -- just enough to make your needles cling so if the block get knocked over, no needles errantly spill to the floor. Not big, not heavy, just functional and cute! The slit can hold a small pattern, or one of our rulers or paddles that double as thread organizers. If you order multiples, we'll try to mix up your woods, but try to match ruler and organizer woods to blocks. All of these are just the coolest things!
4-Inch Wooden Ruler Thread Organizer Needlework soothes the soul and inspires the mind is the advice offered on one side of these 4-inch thread organizers... while The Silver Needle is the other advice for good living on the other side! Measuring 1-1/2 inches x 4-1/2... your calibrated ruler includes 5 holes to loop threads for works in progress. It slips into the slot of our miniature scissor block, so even if you have no threads looped on it, the ruler is still there... and it's stored neatly in your block. Pretty Handy!
3-Inch Hornbook Organizer Even a smaller version of our 4-inch ruler... this is a 3-inch ruler, delivered in a hornbook-style shape. (A Paddle.) Each piece features 9 different holes to loop threads from a work in progress, and is personalized with Silver Needle's logo (which I am personally very attached to!) Again, these fit into the slit of our Mini Scissor Block.
Round Palette Key Chain These are the CUTEST! A clam-shell clasp is ready to attach this rounded, traditional pallette shape to your scissors, tote bag, keys, whatever! 14 Little holes to tie threads into -- if you want -- this is really cutest just as a key ring! It does feature our Silver Needle logo on it... you may already have one -- as a freebie from a Superbowl Sale order or Camp Wannasew Favor -- but you might want another!!! They are the cutest little things! And... again, we can match all the woods to blocks and rulers!
Silver Needle's 3-Inch Ruler Magnet Just something fun we'll have for a while, till they're gone... this is a bar magnet that has been painted with our shop name, and a little stitching cabin nestled in the woods! We had them done in honor of our Camp Wannasew Stitching Weekends this fall! The magnet is painted with 1-inch increments, so it really is a 3-inch measure. Your stitching board would love one of these!
Beeswax Flower Waxer Straight from Italy, come these charming 100% solid beeswax 'waxers.' Something pretty to store in a sewing case, beeswax is used to strengthen and condition threads. You can run your threads across it before stitching... but most do not. Instead, the waxer itself, is the tiny collectable. Beeswax doesn't melt, doesn't get soft and droopy, doesn't attract dust and get 'mangy'... and it has a lovely, fresh, unique fragrance. Something pretty I've found!
Flexible Magnetic Board Nothing fancy here, just a 5-1/2 x 8 inch white flexible sheet of magnetic material... with two more magnetic bars included. Just like the hard metal magnetic boards we used to see so much, this is a smaller, bendable version, with no sharp edges, that fits easily into a tote bag and doesn't weigh so much! Wonderful to help you keep the place on your chart!
Tiny Sampler Magnets from Chessie & Me Sampler artist Linda Lautenschlager has taken her very own designs... shrinking... shrinking... shrinking them down... and somehow scanning, printing and attaching them to magnetic material, so that we have tiny 2 x 2 and 2 x 3 magnets! Miniature printed creations of her work... I chose my favorite 11 designs to start out our collection!!! Use them on your magnetic board to hold your pattern or keep your place. Linda told me at Market that you could put these on your refrigerator -- and they could do IMPORTANT jobs - like health maintenance and inspiration! Health Maintenance -- instead of opening said refrig... to snack -- this tiny sampler would remind you of the stitching that is waiting for you instead... so STOP eating!!! Sticky Highlighter Tape Hey, this is cool stuff!!! 'Scotch Type Tape' that has the tackiness of sticky papers... tear a piece off your roll... place it over your chart line, or beside the instructions you're following... you can see right through it! Not too sticky... the colors are clear and bright, this is like using a see-through sticky-note! So... as a stitcher, this is great, because you can use it to keep your place on your chart, without keeping track of a highlighter marker, and scribbling up your whole chart! Totally no-brainer, and really fun! Available in yellow, 1/2 an inch wide (covers 3 typewritten lines) x 393 inches on a roll.
Resin Animal Magnets Hey, remember all these little resin magnetized animals? We have some really cute ones in this collection from England... BUT... are not able to re-order them anymore from our supplier. As we sell out of ours, they will be gone forever. Mahogany Brown or Antiqued Ivory, each little animal feels heavy in your hand, and is magnetized inside. You can perch your needle on one, even your smaller scissors. Just something fun for anyone who loves a special animal... this is beginning of our Last Call on these!
More Miniature Resin Animal Needle Magnets Even more new English Resin creatures have been added to our Zoo of collectable little magnetic needle holders! Usually about 1 x 1-1/2 inches in size, we get two finishes of creatures -- the white is called 'Ivory' and the brown is referred to as 'Mahogany.' Nicely antiqued pieces, they are magnetized so you can just leave your needle on them between threads! We have quite a selection of these little guys; they have always been popular in the shop!
Bears, Pigs, Acorns, Strawberries, Rams We have a wonderful new shipment of English soapstone/resin needle magnets!!! Offered in Ivory or Mahogany Soapstone... and a few in elegant bronze... these cute little animals each measure just 1 to 1-1/2 inches, feel very heavy in your hand, and are somehow magnetized... so that you can perch your stray needles on them... and find then still there, upon your return! Beautifully antiqued, they're pretty in a small display, or fun for your tote bag. (Note... the stem on the acorns is too delicate for tote bag travel!) The Ivory pieces are not yellow-ish at all.. quite a creamy color. The mahogany is a very dark raisin-red. Heirloom Mother-of-Pearl Buttons Oh my gosh... I've found some lovely antique-flavored Mother-of-Pearl buttons... some are etched, some cut-out, all exquisitely decorated, and beautifully shaped! 'What for', you ask??? Special Sewing, Needle, and Scissor Case closures! Biscornu buttons!!! While we were pricing them in the shop, we lamented that they are 'too pretty to sell!' Iridescent with a glisteny pearl color, we have 6 styles available for only a short time! (coming from Italy, I have no idea if I can really get more or not!) I imagine our scans will help you decide on your favorites... sometimes that special stitched piece demands an exquisite button closure... these are IT! The 10 petal one (#55) varies in size a little from 4/8 to 5/8 in diameter. #48 1s 5/8 in diameter, the rest are 4/8... or 1/2 an inch. I love the #47 flower -- I've never seen a button like it! The detail -- carvings and etchings -- on these are just wonderful, shapes are so graceful, quality is apparent. Sheep Tape Measure Oh my gosh, this is THE cutest little guy!!! A little furry acrylic 'woolen' lamb is the secret hiding place for a very handy tape measure!!! DARLING, DARLING beaded bracelets, these are made of teeny loops of assorted beads, and embellished all over the place with Just Another Button Co handmade clay buttons! Offered as complete kits of beads (all sorts of tiny different ones in there!), necessary wires, crimping beads and clasps, great instructions of line drawings and actual photos of the bracelet parts in progress, and that wonderful assortment of JABCO buttons... these are just awesome! The Empress Thread Cutter from Charland Designs Oh, such a pretty thing, this is a miniature sterling silver thread cutter! Designed and manufactured by Charland, this measures a mere 3/4 of an inch in diameter, and has a flower on one side, and a Celtic Knot design on the other. Small enough to be a charm, but large enough to slice your threads... this is a beautiful piece of jewelry! Wear it on a chain, add it to your stitches charm bracelet or necklace, use Charland's Little Clipper to attach it where ever you like... even inside a prized stitched sewing case!
