Just the cutest idea... stitch a bunch of these, and hang them on a knarley Halloween Tree! The stitching all finishes approx 4 x 4; the finishing template on the back cover is a bit larger. Love the cute rik-raks and trims on these, too! -->

Elizabeth Hancock Sampler from Little House Needleworks - click to see more Elizabeth Hancock Sampler
from Little House Needleworks
Diane Williams has adapted an antique sampler originally stitched in 1831 by Elizabeth Hancock. 'I sigh not for beauty nor languish for wealth...' begins the verse on this piece. Little House has reproduced only the top half of the original sampler... but kept all the mistakes and design oddities from the original in her new design.

It's a lovely piece, offered as a chart, it measures 15-3/4 x 18, worked on 30ct Weeks Straw Linen. Charted for Crescent Colors Belle Soie silk, hand-dyed flosses or regular DMC, Diane promises to present the bottom half of the original sampler -- the Adam and Eve portion -- in an upcoming chart!

The Christmas House -- The Toy Room
from Bent Creek
Here is the top story of Bent Creek's Christmas House... a tall, skinny cut-away view of a bustling Santa's Workshop and personal resting quarters!!! This scene is of the toy-manufacturing room... we see a little sock monkey, a dinosaur, presents, a little elf riding the rocking horse... someone holding the nail, while trusting someone else to swing the hammer! Then, check out that little mouse down there admiring Raggedy Ann!

This is presented as a tiny chart... so very cute!

Once Upon a Stitch from Bent Creek - click for more Once Upon a Stitch
from Bent Creek
This is Little Red Riding Hood!!! Check out her path that leads all to Grandmom's house! Then, check out Gram in the bed... Stitch this and hang it on a red wall... or a kitchen wall... or near the night time story book shelves. Cute little design for the bedroom at Grandma's House, too!

Offered as a chart, this finishes approx 6 x 7 on 30ct, and is stitched in overdyed flosses -- a trio of miniature white flower button are enclosed for the wildflowers!

Boughs of Holly from With Thy Needle & Thread - click for more Boughs of Holly
from With Thy Needle & Thread
Here's a snowman planter growing springs of holly! Brenda Gervais has a cute design that she's stitched on large fabric to finish into a 15-ish inch square pillow! It doesn't look that big in the pic, but it really can be if you choose an 18ct Linen! Stitched with Weeks and Gentle Art overdyed flosses, the holly berries are Algerian Eyelets worked over 4 threads -- the rest is simple Cross Stitch.

Next, instructions are included to transform your originally cream-colored fabric to that mangy, distressed and relaxed look of *aged.* With a stitch count of 122 x 128... this is a darling design that will look good on most any fabric you choose. Offered as a chart.

Queen Bee and Bitty Bunny Crocheted Tape Measures -- click here to see more! Queen Bee and Bitty Bunny
Just when you thought you had enough tape measure lying around the house, stuffed in the kitchen gadget drawer and gracing the bottom of your stitching tote -- here are two more that are just the cutest!!! Queen Bee is crocheted -- not like our other bumblebee tapes that had fabric covering them -- and notice her CROWN?! It's made of gold bugle beads!!! Bitty Bunny has cute floppy ears, and a stuffed carrot -- so he doesn't require any additional feedings.

Just for fun, these 54-inch retracting tapes make great, small stitcher gifts and might be a really fun thing for Santa to stuff into the stocking of someone little who is just beginning to learn numbers and how to measure things!!!

A trio of cute, old-fashioned flavored designs, these remind me of coverlets and wool blankets! Each design in the small Snippet card finishes approx 3-1/2 inches on 28ct Milk Chocolate Linen using overdyeds from your stash. Traditional reds, greens and browns, even the finishing is simple and old-fashioned feeling to me.

Each is wrapped over a board, and then glued to a bit of felt. Wouldn't they be neat stitched with Gentle Art's Simply Wool thread??? These are presented in Lizzie Kate's small Snippet card format, with threads and fabrics available separately.

Brooke's Books finishes her 12-part Bride's Tree 2011 ornament set with this pair of designs! Guidance's symbol is an angel -- she could double as a princess for a special little princess in your life! Santa is the symbol of giving -- and this little guy is READY for that task! He's decked with a fishing pole, doll house, bunny jack-in-the-box, even a tea pot tucked in his pocket!

This was a lovely set of ornaments this year. All are still available, and pictured together. They are offered individually in small chart format.

Domes of Yule from The Trilogy - click to see more Domes of Yule from The Trilogy
The Trilogy has a new set of charts -- one larger, main leaflet, and three smaller coordinating cards. The main 3-1/2 x 8-1/2 design reads; Christmas Time is for Santa's gifts, mistletoe, kisses and togetherness. You can stitch just that, or leave out the gifts, mistletoe and kisses, and insert the individual 2 x 2-1/2 Dome designs instead! Then it reads *Christmas Time and Togetherness.* Or, skip all that, and stitch the three little designs and assemble them into ornaments! (Confused yet?) Domes of Yule from The Trilogy - click to see more

We have some stitched pics here, and a digital image, too, to help clarify. All cute, everything is stitched in an assortment of DMC or hand-dyeds on 32ct Summer Khaki linen, and trimmed with a few gold beads and jingle bells... which surely you have in your stash!

Last Stitch Cemetery and Dark Shadows by Hinzeit -- click to see more new designs Last Stitch Cemetery and Dark Shadows!
from Hinzeit
Hinzeit has two Off the Wall designs that I didn't bring to you in time for Halloween THIS year... but you have a whole YEAR to plan ahead! (Halloween is already scheduled for next year!) Presented in chart format with the casted charms included each can be stitched on fabric of your choice, and is coded for regular old DMC floss! I LOVE Last Stitch Cemetery! The charms are a skull, a spider, a skein of floss and stork scissors! The grave stones read: 'Started & Forgotten, 1/2 Stitched, Too Old, and Lost Interest!!!' It is just the funniest thing!

(Wow... you could even organize your UFOs... and actually label the bins with the individual markers.) Or... what a FUN gift to stitch one little marker to gift to another stitcher!!! The entire piece finishes approx 3 x 13 on 14/28. Dark Shadows is quite the sinister looking piece, as well. With a spider, key and fish skeleton charm trio, these make really unique seasonal decorations -- something fun to pull out every year and smile!

Jo Jo's Santa from Fern Ridge - click to see more Jo Jo's Santa

Fern Ridge has a stunning new Santa Peyote Stitch piece that can be used as a pin, ornament or necklace pendant. Charming Mr Santa Claus is entirely beaded -- no loom, no base fabric. You stitch him in your hands using a beading technique named the Peyote Stitch -- where the beads fit together like miniature bricks!

He is basically charted -- complete beading instructions are included with the color coded diagrams. He finishes a mere 2-1/2 x 2-1/2, his face is flat... but that beard is a wonderful mass of looped beads, all glistening with silver star mixed in. Offered as the complete kit, you get all the threads, beads, embellishments, findings... everything... along with great instructions!

Well... we missed Halloween this year... but I think it's a pretty good gamble that you could get these ready for next year. Here are two more of Fern Ridge's Peyote Stitch Scissor Fobs that add to their awesome collection of luscious creations! Offered as complete kits, these are all beaded. No Cross Stitching involved. Peyote Stitch is a type of beading... no base fabric... you 'do it -- in hand!' Pat and Peggy have so much creative talent -- I don't know how they find all the cool beads they do -- and the fringes for all of their fobs are WAY Over-The-Top COOL!

So much texture and personality in these. They measure approx an inch wide, and 2 to 3 or 4 inches long, depending on the fringes. As far as Peyote Stitch goes -- these are actually more on the beginning side of difficulty. The fringe looks like the hard part -- but that's actually the easiest -- as they are just loops of beads! Bringing our collection of fobs to 9, I believe... our Peyote-Beading-Model-Stitcher, Leanna is busy, busy making our shop models!!! These kits contain ALL your beads, threads, findings, needles... and great instructions! (just not a Leanna to go with them!)

Brenda Gervais has re-produced an antique sampler she owns -- she loved the extra large house and the sweet little fox in the lower right corner. Stitched on weeks 30ct Parchment Linen, this finishes a generous 12 x 12.

Elegant with color emphasis on brown and dusty blue -- it takes 5 skeins of Weeks Straw and 4 skeins of Havana.

Turkey Love from Plum Street Samplers - click for more Turkey Love

New from Plum Street comes this charming little primitive piece for Thanksgiving. Dated 1621 for the year the Pilgrims celebrated their first Thanksgiving in Plymouth, your 90 x 89 stitch count piece can turn out small or larger -- depending on your fabric choices.

Stitched in DMC floss or silks, the colors are rich, the acorns are plump and the turkeys are skinny! Not sure you'd want to eat them this year! Sweet little piece, offered in chart format.

Santa's Sleigh Ride from JBW Designs - click to see more Santa's Sleigh Ride from JBW Designs
JBW has a sweet design that is stitched on the new Fabric Flair 28ct Antique White Opalescent. Stitched with your stash of overdyeds or DMC flosses, Santa in his sleigh finishes approx 8 x 3-1/2 inches. The fabric is simply lovely -- Fabric Flair of England somehow sprays, or treats one side of their fabrics with an opalescent finish. So light... just barely there... I think you'll like the effect. The linen itself has a great hand, too.

Santa's Sleigh ride comes as a partial kit of chart, charms and metallic threads, needle and fabric cut. You add the bits of floss for this JBW treat!

Olde Colonial has introduced a companion box to Grammy's Mending Box. Inspired by Pam's personal collection of antiques... she has an old mending box that is this same size, and features the same unique assembly. The cover of this box begins on the bottom, and wraps around one side to reach over the box to top it. So... the stitched design is worked on 32ct linen with luscious shades of Weeks flosses of Chamomile, Forest Glade, Kudzu, Schneckley, Teal Frost, Chesapeake and Dutch Iris. All blues, greens and browns -- delicious!

This complete kit contains the hand-made 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch burled wood box, (no lid on the box -- remember you are making that part!) lace, charms, linen, flosses, lining fabrics, batting, interfacings and boards... The border is straight and clean, lots of yummy pink, rose and creamy color. Stitched on 40ct linen, this finishes 20 x 12-1/2... so anything larger will certainly make this a commanding sampler!

Coded for DMC floss, Gentle Art Sampler Threads or a combination of silks, you have several great thread options with this, which is a treat! Sampler Threads of Green Pasture, Chives, Piney Woods, Cranberry, Victorian Pink, Rose Garden, Oatmeal, Cherry Wine, Roasted Marshmallow are just some of the colors used.

Jack 'N and Jackie 'O are a party couple! FULL of Halloween personality, Amy has them on Chartreuse linen, so they are not to be missed!!! Frost Soon is completely different from J & J. Deeper colors, subtle design, the pumpkin is gorgeous, and actually features purple spots (which of course, DOES digress from that subtle idea!)

We're up to 7 Snowpeople of the Month now... these are all so colorful, you can stitch just the person part if time is a factor. These are fun (just do the tops) stuffed into little pillows and grouped into a basket. Kind of shove them around in there to mix up the seasons a little.

All of Amy's designs come from her original hand drawings. She is quite the artist, and everything she does bubbles with her personality! (She even sprinkles the floor of her hotel-room-booth with glitter and confetti -- she just leaves an extra tip for Housekeeping!) She delivers us everything in color leaflet format with embellishment packs separately.

Such knarley trees and so much activity in the yards, these finish just a 'slight' 24 and 26 x19 on 28ct ! Black Cat Manor is a bit smaller at 14 x 19! You'll need a little wall space for any one of these! Stitched in a variety of hand-dyeds, each is offered in chart format... beautifully printed and LARGE!

Part of their *busy-ness* and charm are the JABCO clay buttons scattered everywhere -- they always deliver something else to draw the eye! CAN'T STITCH THESE??? Book of Days from The Drawn Thread -- click to see more Book of Days
from The Drawn Thread
Drawn Thread has a new pattern that is a medley of wildflowers and the days of the week. Designed to be the cover of a date or address book, the front design's stitch count is roughly 110 x 150. The pattern does call for a specific date book style, so we advise getting the chart first... then getting your date book... THEN figuring out what size of fabric you'll need to use! Lovely stitches scattered throughout, Cynthia does use Needlepoint Inc and Dinky Dyes silks, and includes a complete placement and finishing guide to stitch this in the proper place on your linen, that is being made into the entire datebook cover.

If you don't want to go the datebook route, this would make a DARLING mail-holder or you could tuck it into the clear front of a binder or folder to hold that week's shopping lists and coupons! I could, of course, stitch this to put in front of the Silver Needle employee time-sheet book... !

You can stitch them as is -- on one piece of fabric and frame them... OR... you can stitch them on perforated paper or make tiny fabric pillows and actually STRING them... and make stitched garlands! Her cover pics show paper shapes attached together via wire -- that makes them easy to flex and display just the way you want them. from Little by Little
Little by Little's Cynthia Bradford has two charming pieces that feature PAPER faces on Idelia Mae and Ann. Ann Pennsylvania is a distant relative -- Cynthia found her name on some old family records -- and knew she just and to design something with that name! Evidentally paper faces in samplers were popular in the 19th century and sometimes painted directly onto the linen instead.

Ann's 10 x 11 piece features a lavish tree, beautifully dressed Ann, and her city and place of residence. All the pretty hand-dyed threads just add to the charm. Offered as the chart, Cynthia has a friend who made a watercolor painting of this tiny paper face included with the chart. Idelia offers the same charm. Her red dress is elegant, you can just tell she was a lady of good character! She finishes approx 8 x 9. This pair of pieces is charming -- especially because of those faces.
We added a lot of other designs, too.... so don't miss them!

His hill is garnished with three white snowball buttons, and even though you stitch his stars and nose, those would be fun to embellish as well.

Santa 2011 is kind of an olde-worlde-looking kind of guy. Kind of fun how his hat and beard mirror each other in design dimension -- he has a festive sack of treasures -- and his border features a smattering of tiny micro-sized button trims. Both are offered as small cards -- and now, Cecilia is including her buttons WITH her card charts.

Ok... Homespun Elegance's 22nd Annual Cinnamon Stick Santa design has arrived, and is worlds different from past years! This year, Santa is stitched on 30ct hand-dyed linen, and finishes approx 4 x 14! His coordinating pattern that is finished as a greenery pocket measures approx 4 x 6. That long, skinny shape is really fun for a novelty pillow... if you opted to stitch him on 10ct like some of the previous year's patterns... he'd be approx 6 x 21!

Offered as the chart, overdyeds and Rainbow Gallery's Wisper are used, and you can see the trio of Olde Brass Star buttons garnishing him. VERY CUTE!

Fleur de Lys from ScissorTail Designs
We have pretty pin cushions and scissor fobs, beautifully stitched in hand-dyed silks -- all with a gently, swirled Fleur de Lys motif! Remember that you can stitch any of these in ANY colors you wish... what makes them enchanting is that graceful Fleur de Lys motif, and the gentle shading of your silk thread.
  • Fleur de Lys for Me is the red set -- it features a 3-inch ruler case.
  • Swirl offers a 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 scissor fob with a rouched ribbon edge treatment.
  • Square delivers one square cushion, and a miniature square version finished into a biscornu.
  • Understated, and very pretty, all are offered as charts.

This is an endearing collection of familiar, classic vintage images that first appeared early in the 1900's via needlework trade card ads and postcards. Reproduced onto 4 x 6 sheets of cotton sateen fabric via an 8-step color printing process, they feature an iron-on backing treatment (very light in weight, but super strong) ... so if you want... you can attach your picture to any fabric to make a mini-quilt, tea towels, etc. You could even frame these just as they are, and not iron them on to anything! Advertising various products and services before WWI, including thread and sewing machines, the original trade and post cards are still very collectable.

Wow... this is CREATIVE! I have never seen a scissor case quite like this -- and it is CHARMING!!! Offered in chart format, you get compete instructions and the chart to stitch this witch hat that doubles as a scissor case. Worked on a mangy gray linen, it is finished 3-dimensionally, and features DMC Memory Thread inside to give the hat band the stability to stand out. Can you see the little spider? He is hanging on there by a bit of Kreinik opalescent #4 braid -- it's his web! He is stitched over one thread, and features tiny beaded legs. Then, he has a super strong magnet in his body to cling to the scissors stored in the hat! Unbelieveably cute, he swings all over the place on his web-string!

The whole hat finishes approx 4-1/2 x 5, and is perfect for any black scissors you have. VERY UNIQUE, the model is quite impressive!!!!! I don't think it's hard to DO... I just love the fact that Susan could imagine and create this unique piece! A Stitched Trophy!

CROW from Acorn House - click to see more CROW from Acorn House
Oh My Gosh... Haven't I always wanted to stitch a big 'ol buzzard??? This little guy is just the cutest! He's almost 7 inches tall... and is perched on a STITCHED branch! Worked on the front and back, his beak opens to reveal felt needle pages. It has a strong magnet in there... and it clings to the scissors stored on his backside -- so his mouth is tactfully closed to gossip! See the leaves hanging from the branch? Those are handmade clay leaves... hung on there with beaded vines!

This whole thing is an exercise in creative needlework and finishing! Stitch this little guy and perch him among your pumpkins for the fall... put him onto a wreath... stick him to the frig... hide him on a bookshelf so anyone who is really studying your books will stumble upon him... ENCHANTING! (And he's a darn CROW!!!!) Offered as the chart with those clay leaves!

Bargello Sampler from Rosewood Manor - click for more Bargello Sampler
    from Rosewood Manor
WOW... this is SO cool! This is a booklet stuffed FULL of pretty Bargello variations that Karen as organized into a Random Spot Motif Sampler. Very different in the world of samplers, this really IS a sampling of stitches. Bargello looks hard to stitch, but it's really easy. It is simply Straight or Satin Stitches all lined up next to each other, with your color variations making up as much of the design impact as the stitch placements themselves.

Bargello isn't as good without the color stripes -- you want it to *move!* I tried to design Bargello *once* and gave up! It's harder for a designer to create than it looks, so I really appreciate this publication. It's like a miniature handbook of 37 different motifs!!!!! Just beautifully done, you can change any colors in any of the motifs if you want. THIS is what you used to see on antique foot stools, and still do on eyeglass cover and that sort of thing.

This sampler measures approx 7 x 13 on 28ct Ivory Cashel Linen. Coded for DMC, you really don't want to use hand-dyed instead, because you need the individual rows of colors to be distinct from each other. Just use good old DMC! Pick your favorites and make some little fobs or ornaments -- or get ambitious and do this whole thing. It's a show-stopper! The leaflet makes an excellent reference tool!

Stitching Shed's look is young, cheerful, colorful and clean. Offered as charts -- they are all coded for Anchor floss. The covers are very clear -- so changing to DMC or hand-dyeds is pretty easy, as you can see the colors so well on the covers. Look into your button and embellishment stash, as well... some of these offer great opportunities for little extra bits of decoration!

A Year in Stitches finishes approx 5 x 6-1/2. Woodland measures 8 x 9, and Chicken Sampler comes in at 8 x 8-1/2. I just love them ALL!

Joining our Gingerbread Stitching House comes the cathedral decked in white perle cottons against the Antique Almond 28ct Cashel Linen. The roof can be stitched on black or the almond... notice the color for the main piece is really only in the tiny stained glass windows.

Looking MUCH harder than it actually is to assemble... you CAN do this! I think the whole thing finishes approx 10 inches high by 9 inches long... I am adding up the piece dimensions in my head. A delightful addition to the House, the accessory pack includes all the silks, metallics, flosses, pearls, gold cross charm, and snowflake buttons. Charming!
