Mermaid Mending Box Olde Colonial has introduced a companion box to Grammy's Mending Box. Inspired by Pam's personal collection of antiques... she has an old mending box that is this same size, and features the same unique assembly. The cover of this box begins on the bottom, and wraps around one side to reach over the box to top it. So... the stitched design is worked on 32ct linen with luscious shades of Weeks flosses of Chamomile, Forest Glade, Kudzu, Schneckley, Teal Frost, Chesapeake and Dutch Iris. All blues, greens and browns -- delicious! This complete kit contains the hand-made 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch burled wood box, (no lid on the box -- remember you are making that part!) lace, charms, linen, flosses, lining fabrics, batting, interfacings and boards... EVERYTHING you need to make this tiny little antique reproduction. Just needs to be in a beach house somewhere!
Frog Notes and Quotes Here's the Best Dressed pad of sticky notes around! Olde Colonial has designed a fun little fabric cover for those papers that are such a desk necessity! Frogs and words are worked over one thread of 32ct linen in overdyed flosses. Garnished with tiny shell buttons and lined with coordinating floral cotton fabric, your tiny 'envelope' will finish approx 3-1/2-ish to fit those sticky notes just perfectly! Complete kit includes the chart, linens, buttons, flosses, linen, needle, template boards and instructions for assembly. Pam includes a sample cut of her favorite stiffening interfacing, in case you want to add that to your finishing process. Cute little thing!
Butterfly Garden Here's a wisp of a project -- a tiny interior basket bottom liner, and a lift-off cover to dress one of Olde Colonial's Nantucket Baskets. Stitched on 32ct Belfast linen in 5 colors of hand-dyeds from your stash, the butterflies are over one thread -- the rest is over two. Flowers are Smrynas and Rhodes, grass is Satin. The included basket measures approx 3 x 5 x 2-3/4. It features a cherry wood rim, and a wooden base. You stitch the topper -- and line with the included green toile patterned cotton fabric. Kit includes the basket, linen and lining fabric, a trio of brass butterfly charms, chart and instructions for finishing. It's a little up there on the price... but the value is in that little basket!
Pineapple Friendship and Forget Me Not Mini Samplers Two teeny-weeny pieces stitched on 32ct Blefast linen with DMC flosses, each comes as a tiny, complete kit of chart, linen, flosses, charm embellishment if needed, and one of Olde Colonial's miniature wooden frames!!! The OUTSIDE measurements of the frames are only 2-1/2 x 3-1/2... and the front opening is just a mere 1-1/2 x 2-1/2 in size. These are really cute stitched and perched on a tiny easel. Eye catching simply because of their petite size!!!!
Introducing Miss Caroline -- Miss Penny's Best Friend! Olde Colonial's Pam Reed has outdone herself with this DELIGHTFUL little antique-reproduction Quaker Penny Wooden Doll! Miss Caroline stands almost 8 inches tall, and is completely hand-made... BY HAND... BY PAM! Just like Miss Penny (who retired long ago!) and the real antiques, Caroline is wooden, painted hair, face and feet. She is dressed in a brown dress, has a muslin slip -- trimmed with lace, and matching pantaloons -- also lace trimmed. Her shawl is brown to match the dress -- a single tack stitch holds the tiny fringed piece in place, and her bonnet is hand-made of darker brown felt. All that is done for you! You stitch Caroline's 32ct hemmed and fringed apron with an alphabet and some specialty sampler stitches, add the brass flower charm... and tie the apron around your doll! Stitched in golds, brown and bits of ecru, this doll is awesome! She comes packaged in a clear plastic storage/display tube, so she says warm, happy, and un-crushed! VERY Limited... Pam says our next shipment will take a few months to arrive, as Caroline is very labor-intensive to make... she (Caroline that is!) just takes her merry-sweet time getting herself ready!!!!!
Waste Knot Want Knot Sewing Basket Olde Colonial has designed a pretty lid -- flip-up-flaps -- for the most unique handwoven swing-handle basket! The stitched design is worked on 32ct Mocha Linen in Weeks and Gentle Art overdyeds of Forest Glade, Heirloom Gold, Havana, Twilight and Putty. It's a flowering vine, advising to Waste Knot and Want Knot that gently meanders across your basket topper... colors in the stitching match the included fabric that lines the lid. There are tiny wooden button embellishments and a teeny weeny pair of scissors as well, tucked on the topper design. The basket is exquisite! It features Walnut swing handles, and a unique shape -- approx 7 x 10 x 4-1/2 inches -- with a flat oval wooden base. The top is kind of 'cinched in,' beautifully woven, so after your topper is on, you still see so much of the charming basket shape. The chart is offered with the finishing instructions, templates and boards, topper lining material, ribbon for ties, and embellishments. You'll still need the overdyeds from your stash and an 9 x 27 cut of 32ct Mocha Linen. The basket is offered separately. Halloween Pocket Stitch a small 4 x 4-ish Halloween Pocket to store some thread winders, or special photo, some lists, a gift card... anything small. This complete kit is packaged in a retro Halloween paper box that is decorated with vintage paper designs, and features a wooden cut-out on the littered lid. The box itself is cute... and you don't need to do a THING to enjoy it -- no stitching or anything! Open the lid to find your stitching kit inside! Pointed Linen Stockings These little guys are so whimsical in flavor -- the curved shapes are so cheerful! (Although Pam was not cheerful after she hand-cut all the fabric pieces to make them!!!) Measuring approx 4-1/2 inches at the top and 8 inches long, each fabric stocking features a 32ct linen triangle cuff for stitching. Each stocking (assorted fabrics available) faces right, and all have a gold wired-ribbon hanger. Cute as can be, they're kind of large to be considered an ornament, I think, but they'd be darling hanging on a HUGE Charlie Brown Tree, or from garlands or wreaths! Olde Colonial offers a chart packet that contains 4 different cuff designs and charms for each -- but you might have something else in your stash you've been dying to stitch that might work for these, as well.

Talk about convenient... if you can't find a needle during Christmas... you have one stored safely ON YOUR TREE! Stitched on 32ct Light Mocha, the tree is worked in Queen Stitches, and there's a bit of one-over-one, but since this is so small... none of that is an issue! Halloween Boo Pin Cushion We had this little guy a few years ago... he's tiny, simple and real cute! The stitched top is worked on 32ct Light Mocha Belfast Linen with Weeks and DMC flosses, a few special stitches and a bit of one-over-one, make up the 5 x 6 stitched area. The complete kit to make this neat box includes the 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 1-1/2 wood box, all fabrics, felts, threads, lining fabrics and interfacings, boards, gold closure bead, and finishing instructions to re-create her original. Absolutely charming... notice that the lid actually covers the back side of the box, and wraps around to the top!

Nantucket Opera Bag This is a Nantucket Basket that is woven around a white ceramic 'pencil-cup' type of form. Overall the basket measures approx 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 and is very heavy because the ceramic cup is inside. The fabric topper is elastic-banded with a ribbon drawstring, and the entire piece which comes pre-sewn, is removable. My first inclination is a pencil cup... but since the inside is permanent, you'd want to line it to keep ink off the ceramic. BUT...BUT... here comes the needlework! Nantucket Opera Bag Accessories Offered as a complete kit, here are tiny stitched pieces to grace your Opera Bag! Now... instead of a pencil cup, it is a tiny stitching basket! The accessory set includes a scissor sheath for embroidery scissors and two little pin cushion fobs to hang at the ends of the bag's topper ties. The complete kit includes the 32ct Belfast, DMC and overdyed flosses, finishing instructions, charts, needle, felt and linings for the sheath and fobs. Basting Thread Pocket and Measure This is a neat little set of pieces... technically a stitched 'tool box!' The main pocket is a fully lined, stiff pouch that measures approx 3 x 4 -- your stitching done with DMC and overdyeds graces both sides. Next, inside, it stores a tiny 2-inch stitch-starter measuring board, and then a tiny 1-inch counting pin, to mark that starting place. (Place the Measuring Board in the corner of your fabric, measuring two inches in and two inches down -- in a jiff -- and then use the marking pin to mark the spot!) The complete kit contains the linens, linings, flosses, pre-cut boards, and elegant gold pin for the counter. There are a few special stitches in the designs, and the colors are soft greens and roses... just a really pretty set of tiny pieces... this one will be fun to do!

Medium-Sized Dowry Boxes for Jeannette Douglas's Stitches Sampler Series These beautiful boxes have been made to fit Jeannette Douglas's series of Stitches Samplers. Handmade by Olde Colonial, the boxes are available in the Birdseye Maple -- a rich reddish brown finish, or a smoother, darker brown finish. Overall measurements are 9 x 11 x 3, with a top opening of approx 8-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches. Just lovely, this box is the smaller version of the box featured in My Stitching Treasures.
Needlework Garden Fob and Scissor Case Pam Reed of Olde Colonial has designed us yet another charming and petite accessory for her Needlework Garden Sewing Basket. This one is a scissor case, with a matching mini-fob piece. Companions to the main basket and needlecase, we have a small round Nantucket pin cushion basket, and a miniature wooden thread palette case... now this additional piece. Stitched on 32ct Light Mocha Linen in Weeks and Gentle Art overdyed flosses, each piece of the set features some of the same design elements as the others. Tiny rabbits, ladybugs and lavender florals, each piece features a few special stitches, and the same green lining fabrics in each kit. The fob finishes approx 1 x 1, the case approx 5 x 6 -- but remember that you fold it into three sections -- so overall it's approx 3 x 5. The Tulip Sampler Pencil Box The larger companion to the small stapler case that is also brand new, this is a pretty design full of Queen and Rice Stitches. Stitched on 30ct linen, it uses three of the new Sampler Threads that have just arrived... so that's kind of fun! Deep reds, navys and greens, the tiny design measures just 1-1/4 x 7, and fits into the top of either of Olde Colonial's newest box shapes -- two very substantial pencil boxes! Along with OC's signature Birdseye Maple smooth style, we have this decorative style, too. Total box size is approx 5-1/5 x 11 x 2-ish, with an opening on top that's ready for that little sampler! The Needlework Garden Thread Palette Case The third piece in the Needlework Garden Basket Set, this joins the main basket and smaller Snip Basket that holds tiny thread ends. This palette case features take-outs of the main design, re-arranged on the tiny 2-inch diamond front. The reverse side features the matching green lining fabric that has a tiny pocket for a tiny 3-inch wooden thread paddle! With five holes for your 5 overdyed threads that are included in the complete kit, this is the cutest thing! Pretty mauves, lavenders, gold and greens, it's a quick stitch, and would be cute just by itself, or with one or both of its matching pieces!
Small Frames Good things come in small packages... and pretty needlework comes in tiny frames! By Olde Colonial, these are two dark wood frames accented with a bit of gold leaf. Each has a tiny hanging ring on the back, as well as an easel-back for easy stand-up capabilities. The round frame is 3-3/4 inches overall, with an opening of 2-5/8 inches. The oval measures 3-1/4 x 3-3/4, with and interior opening of 2-1/4 x 2-3/4. Very pretty, just nice little frames for anything special!
Mimi's Stapler Box This is a fun stitched 'basket' for a small desk stapler that is included with the kit! Just a tiny thing, this Queen-stitched design is featured on five sides of the stapler box, and makes such a pretty presentation! Offered as the complete kit, you get the 30ct Northern Cross Natural Linen, the little stapler, needles, interfacings and linings, the pre-cut boards for the box and complete finishing instructions to make the teeny 1 x 1-1/2 x 4 box! Christmas Pin Cube Olde Colonial’s Christmas Cube has been released… the same cute miniature pin cube format as our set of six from last year! Perfect for a Christmas Tree Ornament, you stitch two sides of your cube, and stick the tiny glass-headed pins into the other four. The complete kit contains the chart, linen, flosses, pins and hanging cord. Just a bit of stitching over one thread -- the construction isn’t hard -- but the pin placement truthfully is a bit of a challenge. It’s worth the finished product, though, because when it’s finished, it’s a mere 1-1/4 inch square cube!

Clips Kept Here A charming new desk accessory from Olde Colonial has just arrived. The complete kit includes a cube-shaped paper clip holder that is magnetic around the top opening, colored paper clips, and 32ct linen. The overdyed flosses are deep moss, burgundy and golden-whiskey colors. A tiny brass heart charm is included, along with coordinating grape/moss/gold lining fabric (with some illustrations), special stiffener pieces to help give body to the stitched panels, chart and finishing instructions. Pin Wheelie Wow, this is a neat little thing! Pam Reed from Olde Colonial has created another 'have-to-have!' for your stitching bag! This kind of thing also looks stunning just displayed with your finished pieces or needlework tools in a pretty setting... so many things you can do with it! Anyway, the alphabet and vine design is stitched on 32ct Antique Ivory in overdyed Midnight floss, and touches of green and gold DMC. Your finished stitching covers one side of the wheel, the back is covered with a calico fabric. The pins slide in and out from the edges... the wheel has little guide holes for them, so you can actually remove them to use, and put them back in again!!! The pin wheel is a pre-finished thing... gold-ball-headed pins already stuck in there and everything(!), it measures just 3-1/2 inches in diameter. The complete kit contains the chart, linen, pineapple print backing fabric, batting to puff the stitching a little, precut circles to mount the stitching and pineapple backing fabric, a tiny pineapple charm, the threads and little wheelie!
