Winter at Beacon House Praiseworthy Stitches has a new 'Down the Lane' design -- this one is a seashore scene in the Winter -- NOT the Summer! For a change, we have evergreens, and snow covered hills, a snowman in the yard, but still the blue waves and an incoming ship. We never see winter seaside scenes, so this one is different and really fun. A celebration to the first snow of the season. Stitch it on a nice mangy gray linen to give it that dark winter sky. They've shaded the house a lot -- looks neat -- and there are lots of Eyelets and Smyrnas all over the place in here for texture. Offered as a chart, this finishes approx 8-1/2 x 19 on 32ct.
Ravenmoon Hall, Buzzard's Roost Inn & Black Cat Manor Praiseworthy Stitches presents quite a spectacular trio of haunted houses, actually beautifully painted and maintained... the neighbors living within might not fit with your neighborhood! Such knarley trees and so much activity in the yards, these finish just a 'slight' 24 and 26 x19 on 28ct ! Black Cat Manor is a bit smaller at 14 x 19! You'll need a little wall space for any one of these! Stitched in a variety of hand-dyeds, each is offered in chart format... beautifully printed and LARGE! Part of their busy-ness and charm are the JABCO clay buttons scattered everywhere -- they always deliver something else to draw the eye! CAN'T STITCH THESE??? Midnight Fright Cute jacks all lined up -- hats and cats and bats!!! Finishing approx 12 x 12 on 28ct, hand-dyed flosses, cute JABCO buttons... this has it all!
Peppermint Christmas This is a fun design... there is really not much on the stitching end of things... just lots of charm with Santa's face and all the little peppermints! It finishes a generous 5 x 8-1/2 on 28ct. We love all the subtle stitching with the smattering of all sorts of peppermint canes and candies! Offered as the chart.
Sandcastle Bay What a fun beach scene -- this looks like the pirates have come to the island and discovered the relaxed local culture. Picnics, games, umbrellas, and blowing whales.. everything fun comes in this chart. Finishing approx 6 x 14 on 32ct, this design is antique in feel -- except for those funky beach umbrellas!!! Finishes approx 7 x 16 on 28ct. Could go smaller.....................
Wonderfully Wicked Whimsies This is a fun set of little home-made what-nots. A haunted house needle case, beaded spider floss ring, a pin disc, pumpkin pin cushion, tiny ghost tin and scissor fob. You can see all in our pic -- SAVE that picture, as the kit has only a teeny tiny image. Just cheerful and fun, the little pin cushion is mounted in a big plastic bottle cap! Offered as a complete kit, you get all the charts, hand-dyed linens, flosses, felts, and lining fabrics. The embellishment baggie has the needle tin, cute ribbons, beads, a felt heart, goodly eyes... all sorts of stuff ... just not that bottle cap! Little bits of Halloween Delight!
Strawberry Pyn Pillow A sweet piece to stitch, Praiseworthy Stitches brings you a 70 x 70 stitch count design, worked on 32ct Ivory, featuring a Queen Stitch Strawberry surrounded by a border of green. The little berry is solid Queen Stitches, but instead of being packed together with shared holes joining each stitch, there is a thread between each Queen, so you can actually SEE all your hard work and multiple stitches!! Pretty colors of Sampler threads used -- Cherry Wine, Dried Thyme, Victorian Pink, Cameo Pink and Avocado! Offered as the chart.
Freedom Park Join the 4th of July Celebration in Freedom Park! Lots of metallic long stitches scattered everywhere make up all the fireworks going off in the sky, and the garlands on the gazebo are actually strings of beads! 'Fireworks bursting, Flags waving, Sparklers shining, Freedom!' Add your initials on that lower right-hand edge, and you've finished a charming 6 x 13 summer sampler. Charted for DMC or overdyeds, this has a very nostalgic, hometown flavor, with pretty, soft and dusty colors.
Emilia's Sewing Case 'Lay all the steps of pride aside, Let truth and wisdom be your guide.' This is an awesome sewing case that is bursting with dynamic Bargello/Florentine Stitching! Stitched in soft overdyeds of greens and rose-pinks (the colors are soft and pretty!) on Week's 35ct hand-dyed Linen, the outside Bargello is stunning.... and features small areas with flowers. The verse panel is the back. Next, on the inside of the case, you have wool pockets (Rose Quartz from Weeks) and a linen pocket that can hold such treasures as scissors, thread rings and winders, and needle minders! The whole thing measures approx 10 x 18... and features that wonderful Bargello on the front and lots of Rhodes, Blanket, Eyelets, Smryna, Lazy Daisy and Rice stitches on the inside. There is a beaded scissor fob, so we have that bag of beads, too, and have included it!!! Lots of glass and crystal beads and the clam-shell finding... there was no question... we had to have beads to match every case!!! The booklet has 23 pages of charts and diagrams, along with finishing instructions. Print our pics here... for some extra guidelines! Just a really pretty piece, in lovely, soft pinks and greens!
Sweet Baby Sampler 'Our dear sweet child, welcome to our hearts.' This is a lovely, classic birth sampler charted for Crescent Colours Belle Soie Silk. Luscious, soft shades of lavender, rose and soft greens, this finishes approx 6-1/2 x 10 on 32ct. (Sweet Lavender, Elegant Eggplant, Carnation, Cabbage Patch, Fern Frond, Creme de Menthe, Mudpie (doesn't match the rest of the colors -- does it!?) and Babbling Brook. Special stitches are included... Rhodes, Herringbone, Rice, Smryna and Diamond Variation... nothing is too difficult, and it all adds texture and bit of class! Just sweet and simple! The Bee Keeper's Cottage This is a busy summertime sampler... full of charm! The chart describes bees humming from flower to flower, gathering their nectar. The hives are overflowing with golden honey. The beekeeper's shop is now open for business... come and buy a taste of sweet summer! Measuring approx 6-1/2 x 14-1/2 on 32ct, this is stitched in cross stitch, with a few French Knots, Satins (the hives), and some back stitch (in the honey comb at the bottom) using Crescent, Weeks and Gentle Art's overdyeds. Lots of color, I really like all the small motifs scattered everywhere. The tiny dots are black beads -- a really easy way to stitch the smaller bees. Overdyed flosses give all the individual leaves lots of interest -- no two are alike, and that brick shoppe is luscious!!! The chart is nice and HUGE, too!
The Visit This piece celebrates friendship! The classic verse, 'The road to a friend's house is never long' is featured, along with the ladies, themselves, in the front yard! Stitched on 32ct, this measures approx 18 x 25-1/2, and is stitched using Weeks and Sampler Threads overdyeds. I love the shading in the house, and all the identical leaves on those trees... and the little fish in the pond, and the wrought iron fence and the benches... there are a lot of neat details in this. The chart talks about spending time with your friends -- the hours go faster, and hearts are made lighter! You could even change out the alphabet letters in the border, and stitch specific initials instead!
Harvest House 'Frost on the pumpkins and birds in the air... come rejoice... Harvest Time is here.' A bustling scene, complete with scarecrow that should be FIRED! The wagon is full of pumpkins, ready for pie! This finishes approx 6 x 14 on 28ct, (lots of fabric choices will work...) and is stitched in DMC or Crescent Colours overdyeds. Part of the border is cross stitched over 4 threads instead of 2, but everything else is regular cross. Cute, this is offered as a chart.
A Most Noble Pursuit Collaboration Sampler from a Group on Ten Designers Quite a special endeavor... details in this are wonderful... colors are rich and deep. (If you want to change that red dress in the 7th block... just DO it... you're allowed to!) Very nicely done... quite the noble pursuit of that group of 10 designers friends... you get to enjoy the fruits of their friendship! The talents of 10 companies, this is a limited edition, and is EXQUISITE! Look at the blocks, and see if you can recognize who did which... they are so pretty... and the colors of rusts, browns, teals, taupes and greens... just breathtaking! Contributing designers are: Brightneedle, Carriage House Samplings, Hands to Work, La D Da, Patricia Ann Designs, Praiseworthy Stitches, Primitave Traditions, A Stitch and a Prayer, With My Needle and The Workbasket. Each of the 10 companies has designed a block that can be stitched together or individually. Packaged as the set of 10 charts, the total stitch count comes to 408 x 242, quite an impressive piece! *We've received information about the Noble Pursuit Silk Pack! You'll be getting 297 different strands of luscious Needlepoint, Inc Silk, all wrapped around a color card! The silk set will run $65.00.* The silks work beautifully on any 32 to 36ct linen. If you don't think you'd be able to get through the whole thing... just pick a few favorite squares and stitch those! (Each block would be approx 6 x 9 if you worked it individually on a 28ct... just to give you an idea. On a 36ct... each block will measure approx 4-1/2 x 7.) Such a pretty piece, this is being made available to the shops attending the trade show. We'll bring ours home, and begin shipping them out the second week of February.
