from Shakespeare's Peddler and Little House Needleworks
Oh... this set of stitched pieces is PRETTY!!!!!! A Market Special Limited Edition Collaboration between Little House Needleworks and Shakespeare's Peddler, Diane offers the most charming elongated heart pin cushion, while Teresa made a long tube-shape sit-about. The charts come together along with another bonus Little House chart, a package of Crescent's hand-dyed 1/2 inch Bean Sprout Rik Rak... and 5 complete skeins of Crescent's Weeping Willow, Timber, Hazelnut, Stepping Stones and Clay Pot flosses. Both stitched on 32ct... (you will have enough thread to stitch both projects) the heart finishes 6 x 9-ish (smaller because it's stuffed rather than flat and framed) and features darling stitching themed motifs. Check out the edging... it is the hand-dyed Rik Rak that you gather and tack around the edges. REAL CUTE.

Next... pay attention to the roll. I hate to tell you that inside is a batting-covered paper towel roll... Teresa promises that after learning this finishing technique, you might start 're-purposing assorted tubes' from around the house! Hers reads; 'Gentle Stitches', is filled with rice or walnut shells, and trimmed on the ends with matching Week's wool and antique buttons from your stash. The package includes both charts and finishing instructions, the flosses and Rik Rak. You supply the 32/16 ct fabric and misc finishing bits (buttons and wool bits) from your stash.

Ann Dale 1827: Big and Beautiful from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Ann Dale 1827: Big and Beautiful
Remember *A Part of Ann Dale?* Well... this is ALL of Ann Dale! A stunning reproduction of an antique sampler stitched and signed by Ann Dale in 1827, Teresa Venette has had a wonderful time presenting this beautiful piece to us! (I wanna start it RIGHT NOW!) Huge, huge, the stitch count of this is 402 x 531. Choose a fabric you like -- you'll execute over 65,000 X's in here!!! Teresa gives us a whole page of her *stories* about this piece -- Ann must have come from a wealthy family, as red threads were much more expensive than other colors -- and this is full of gorgeous red colors. All the floral urns in here -- all the traditional sampler elements, the splashes on teal near the bottom -- when you pay attention to this piece, you'll fall in love!

Teresa warns you to choose a fabric you like, and has charted this for silks, DMC or Sampler Threads. BUY ENOUGH thread, she says... and change your colors if they aren't grungy or bright enough for you -- this is YOUR piece! If you want smaller options -- look at *A Part of Ann Dale* and her other 'take-out chart' *Anne Dale's Flower Book* which is the compilation of all those urns in here -- without all the animals and borders. Lots of options here... on 36ct, this finishes a whopping 22-1/2 x 29-1/2! Offered as a chart. Love it, Love it!!!

Ann Dale's Flower Booke from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Ann Dale's Flower Booke
Love all those floral urns in Ann Dale's Sampler -- but know you won't get to stitching them all??? Get this smaller take-out compilation chart instead!

13 Charts of the assorted florals from Ann Dale, presented on less paper, easier to deal with, not as overwhelming to look at and stitch from... just another option!

Spring at Bean Family Farm from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Spring at Bean Family Farm
This is a cool piece -- quite a smattering of farm motifs to celebrate the Springtime! (Hope we get these Bean Family Farms for all the other seasons, too, but who knows?!) The gardening tools, the carrots and peas have been planted. The birds and the bees are about, the sheep are ready to shear -- looks like one is still fluffy and gray, while the other one is skinny and white already!

Offered as a chart, the stitch count on this is 170 x 200. Teresa has charted it for Gentle Art Sampler Threads, A SPECIAL 10-skein set of Limited Edition Sampler threads OR regular DMC. You have three thread choices with this. Any fabric will do nicely -- she is just in love with the *rustic and crusty* frame she found for the model, which is worked in the Limited Edition Thread Set on 32ct Flax Linen.

Jenny Bean's Gentle Spring Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Jenny Bean's Gentle Spring Sampler
"Gentle Mothers lead the way." That's the verse in this charming tribute to Spring and new babies!!!! (I guess you could use this as a birth sampler for a girl born on a farm... kind of cute!) The organized alphabet tops this medley of small motifs -- you get the mom pig and her piglets, the sheep and lamb, mama duck and ducklings... Then, the family homestead. Next, the vegetable and flower gardens and horses in the meadow... and finally the duck pond.

Really fun to look at, the stitch count on this is 105 x 275, finishing approx 6-1/2 x 17 on 32ct. Stitched with Gentle Art Sampler Threads, just a cute piece!

Tate's Stocking from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Tate's Stocking
Raise the Roof has a neat design that makes quite a substantial sized Christmas Stocking! Stitched on Week's Dye Works 20ct Straw Linen in lots of Crescent Colours and Week's Dye Works size 5 Perle Cottons -- or just regular DMC #5's, this finishes a nice 16 x 22. Santa can get a lot into this one! The Weeks linen is a little *pricey* -- so 18ct Natural is another really GOOD option for this. It'll change the size to roughly 18 x 24. (Too big? Reduce to 25ct Lugana -- 13-1/2 x 17-1/2!)

The design is really nice -- a traditional verse, the snowy sleigh scene down below, lots of room and an alphabet for personalization, it is garnished with a trio of clay jingle bell buttons. Good colors, good everything with this one! Offered as the chart with clay bells separately.

Spring Square - Sun, Rain and Spring! from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Spring Square -- Sun, Rain and Spring!
Hey, remember The Sampler Roundy? Well... this is a little Springy Squarey! Two wooden squares from the big-box-craft-store... painted with a distressed whitewash finish... the Spring design is stitched on a yummy light olive green 32ct linen in browns, honey and cinnamon and creme overdyed cottons.

2 Seconds of stitching here... we're going to get busy and paint Squares for you... and include some pretty Crescent hand-dyed Rik Rak for your finishing! (Give us till mid-March to get our squares together... have to track down the wood, get the paint and trim... and steal a couple of painting hours in the back room!)

Quilted Spring from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Quilted Spring
I think Teresa is going to do all 4 seasons of these... spring is the first. I believe the fabric is 32ct Rue Green Linen, and the included lengths of flosses are Gentle Art Sampler Threads of dark and light teal, dark and light cinnamon and cream. Two of the flosses in here are limited editions!

Finishing approx 5 inches square, it's made up of 25 mini-squares -- just an inch each! Includes the linen, chart, threads and bluebird button embellishment.

Jane Pattison 1806 from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Jane Pattison 1806
Oh, Teresa has found another cool sampler to re-birth for us! The original is from 1806... and stitched in wool. When you read Teresa's page of info about this piece, you'll pay attention to the motifs OUTSIDE of the border, and the pretty pine tree feel of the border. Lots of strange-ness in here, it is just charming!

Finishing approx 14 x 18 on 32ct... she has it charted for either Gentle Art's cotton Sampler Threads or their Simply Wool, or just plain good-old DMC floss!. DO THIS IN THE WOOLS! It has a wintery feel, and since the original is in wools -- it's a cool way to help preserve the design integrity. You do need more skeins of the wools vs the cottons... so it is quite a bit stiffer on the budget.

Presenting Monthly Angels!
February's Angel kicks off the 12-part set. Holding a love letter to put in to the mail -- or did it just come from the mailbox -- her little kitty is just hanging around to see! Ms Feb is 70 x 80 stitches, worked with delicious colors of raspberry, grape and butterscotch hand-dyed flosses, and features a smattering of clay button embellishments along with two 'Just Pins' from Just Another Button Company! (Theresa has made them look like lollypops.)

Just too darn cute, Ms Feb will be the same size as the other 11 angels in her set. She comes as a chart, and each month -- on the auto-Ship -- we're sending that chart along with the clay buttons and pins. We have fun fabrics available... so if you don't want to raid your stash... we can send that 30ct hand-dyed as well!!! Don't you just love her???

A Part of Ann Dale
Ann Dale from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more
Ann Dale's Sampler is stunning! Teresa has been busy buying antique samplers and reproducing them... this one is full of fancy birds lacy trees and lavish flower pots. The border is straight and clean, lots of yummy pink, rose and creamy color. Stitched on 40ct linen, this finishes 20 x 12-1/2... so anything larger will certainly make this a commanding sampler!
Coded for DMC floss, Gentle Art Sampler Threads or a combination of silks, you have several great thread options with this, which is a treat! Sampler Threads of Green Pasture, Chives, Piney Woods, Cranberry, Victorian Pink, Rose Garden, Oatmeal, Cherry Wine, Roasted Marshmallow are just some of the colors used.

A Silver Needle from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more
A Silver Needle
Theresa V from Shakespeare's Peddler dreamed up a cute little stitching sampler for us that was a bonus surprise at our 2011 Summer Stitching event! Exclusive to our shop, it's a slight thing -- approx 5 x 5 in size. Featuring 4 colors of Gentle Art Sampler Threads that are limited in edition -- none of the threads have joined that regular line -- so it's kind of fun the have them 'secretly!'

'A Silver Needle and Thread so fair'... is the verse, and there's plenty of room for you to add or sub some of your favorite stitching motifs in here. Offered as the chart, cut of 32ct Natural Linen, 4 complete GAST skeins and one DMC.

A-Wassailing from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more
A-Wassailing
'Here We come a wassailing among the leaves so green' Shakespeare's Peddler has a charming olde-worlde design offered as a limited edition for just a few weeks. Offered as her original chart with 40ct hand-dyed Vintage Meadow Rue linen, an exclusive JABCO button and 6 complete skeins of Gentle Art Sampler Threads -- again Limited Edition -- your tiny Christmas creation will finish approx 2 x 2 or 4 x 4 depending on your choice of over one or two!

I love the motifs in here. Look at that lacy evergreen tree... the vine above the bird... the strong 8-pointed flower medallions in there... you don't *see* the flowers but they add design balance! Very classic! Offered as the chart with linen, flosses and button -- just for a few weeks!

Pumpkin Joe

Raise the Roof's newest Halloween design is too darn cute to be very scary! It features a witch-in-flight complete with billowing cape, wispy broom, the dark, swirling night-time sky, and lots of seasonal friends on the ground below! Check out the ghost for BOO. The Spider for SCURRY -- gotta love his hairy legs! And, YUM's candy corn and caramel apple.

Offered as a chart, this measures approx 8-1/2 x 12-1/4 on some dark and mangy 32ct linen. Worked in hand-dyed Sampler Threads, JABCO has a set of buttons gracing this, too. VERY CUTE... this'll make a great seasonal decoration. Something about it is cheerful, colorful, fresh and fun.

Elenor Ferrow 1842 from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Elenor Ferrow 1842
Shakespeare's Peddler has a new reproduction piece -- something that was originally stitched in purple, magenta and slime-lime-black wool! Theresa changed the colors... she hinted that they had been garish! The pagoda is unusual to say the least, especially since air travel in 1842 was non-existent. WHERE did Elenor see one? She didn't have the internet... how did that get into her piece?

Finishes approx 9 x 12-3/4 on 32ct... stitch this in either hand-dyeds or DMC. Offered as a chart.

Gnome Sweet Gnome from Raise the Roof - click to see more Gnome Sweet Gnome
'Though I may roam, there's no place like home!' Here's a new slant on *Home Sweet Home* offered Raise The Roof-Style! There's that little backyard traveling gnome... he's got his house key and his bicycle... and he's ready to see the world! (You know, symbolized by the lush landscape over on the right -- the evergreen!)

He's the cutest little guy... and he needs a wall to call home! Colors are more subtle than we were able to depict online. Offered as a chart, this finishes approx 3 x 6 on 32ct.

Measure by Measure -- A Ruler Keep from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Measure by Measure -- A Ruler Keep
'Measure by Measure, Life is a Treasure' is the featured verse on this neat 4 x 6 padded ruler pocket board. Finished just as a padded board... when we see the backside, there you'll find a wool sleeve to hold your Mother-of-Pearl 3-inch ruler, and another small patch to hold a needle or pin. (One of our black Mourning Pins is stuck in there now -- I just love the black -- old looking pin -- rather than a shiny new one!)

This model is stitched on Weeks 30ct Parchment hand-dyed linen with Gentle Art Sampler Threads. You can alter your linen choices... and choose any pretty wools you have for your pockets... even add some of the new Crescent Colour hand-dyed trims to your edges if you want! Just a fun little thing -- and an exquisite home to those wonderful Kelmscott Mother-of-Pearl rulers! Offered as the chart, ruler offered separately.

For Ann: Pin Keep and Scissor Fob from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more For Ann: Pin Keep and Scissor Fob
Theresa has outdone herself with her notes to you inside this fun little sampler adaptation piece! Taken from her Anne Harrison 1830 sampler, this is a smaller take-out design that she has made into a pin-keep... which would be a neat token gift for a friend, or even better -- something for YOU!

She talks about the alphabet and initial placement... adding a word or two... changing fabric, all that... and tells you 'where to go' on the internet for many fantastic ideas for finishing this. Very pretty piece, stitched on Weeks 40ct in overdyeds, this is offered as a small chart.

Home Springs Eternal
What a pretty piece by Shakespeare's Peddler -- the house, the alphabet, the border and basket -- and of course the lock and key to keep all safe and sound! Teresa's sampler has a stitch count of 145 x 95, and can be stitched on almost any fabric of your choice.

She chose two different colorways for this -- the limited edition Gentle Art Sampler Thread packet features 10 complete skeins of un-released colors (model was stitched with this color asst.), or you can follow the alternate selections of Sampler Threads (in the regular color line) or even DMC. Pretty browns and greens, the house is stitched in Gold Rush (Gold Leaf) and there is a hint of Raisin (Grape Arbor) in the window panes and flowers. Offered as the chart with coordinating clay flower button embellishment (see it on the floral urn?)

God Bless Those... from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more God Bless Those... Who struggle to be free.

Offered only for a short while, it comes as a small kit with either 40 or 32ct Vintage Examplar Linen by Lakeside (very warm honey color), and three skeins of un-released limited edition Sampler Threads (a gold, a red-ish brown and a golden-brown.)

Her model is made into a pin-cushion piece, stuffed with something heavy -- like rice or walnut shells. Doesn't need any more description from me... that verse says it all!

Jenny Bean's Creation Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Jenny Bean's Creation Sampler Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, imaginary sampler-stitcher Jenny Bean (aka Shakespeare's Peddler) has designed her sampler to finish approx 7 x 16 on 32ct. *God said 'Let There Be Light' and there was light.* *and God said it was good!* Pretty borders and crisp alphabet and numbers at the top and in the verse, the garden scene near the bottom is full of charming motifs.

Lions and lambs, the fishes amidst the waves, Adam and Eve, the apple tree and an angel -- there is no crabby serpent here! ... I love the extra commentary Teresa put on the front of the chart's package... 'All's well that ends well!" Offered as a chart, there are even options in here to use a few specialty stitches if you feel like it! Thread pack vailable (while they last) of 15 complete skeins of Gentle Art Sampler Threads -- regular colors, no limiteds -- $28.50 vs open stock skeins at $33.75!

Ann Grant 1829 from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Ann Grant 1829
Teresa found a charming antique sampler that joined her personal collection the day she saw it! Re-charting it, and publishing it is her bonus treat for us all! A generous sized piece, 290 x 350, Ann Grant's sampler of over 40,000 stitches, worked when she was just 10 years old, speaks a message to Love God.

Teresa has an entire page of notes to us in here... what drew her to this piece... all the charming motifs, awesome color, imperfections in the design... totally fun to read. Makes you appreciate the elements and sentiments in here. I love the strong border, the lacy tree, it's a lovely, traditional sampler! Offered as a chart, coded for silks or DMC.

Here's the 2011 version of the house and several other motifs directly from Ann Grant's 1829 sampler! Same shapes, brighter, deeper colors, less than 40,000 stitches -- because we don't have as much time to stitch these days as Ann did! Isn't this a fun way to compare both pieces?

Offered in small chart format, coded for silks or DMC, these colors are NOT the same as those in the larger piece!

Tread Lightly from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Tread Lightly
Wise advice for all!!! *Tread Lightly, You're just passing through.* Offered as a small chart, this is stitched in only three colors of silk or DMC cotton. Nothing lavish with special stitches or embellishments... just good old-fashioned thoughts.

Lizzie Kate created Flora Mc Sample, Chessie created Scarlet Pomegranate. We have several in the 'chain' so watch for them!!! Meanwhile, stitch Jenny Bean's Friendship Sampler... awfully neat as a welcoming piece in your foyer, or some where near your *chatter-bench!* (How's that for a blast from the past!?)

Jane Philpott 1837: An Adam & Eve Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Jane Philpott 1837: An Adam & Eve Sampler
Teresa's been sampler shopping... and found a pair of almost identical samplers stitched by two sisters in 1837. She bought the pair, and has been re-charting! Jane's is presented this year... Sarah's maybe next year! Stitched in Ramsgate, England, Jane was most likely a persnickety and tidy girl. Teresa's bits of musing that are included with the chart talk about Jane's stitching, her colors, and her snake -- that was evidentally not cross-stitched at all, but embroidered.

Pretty flowers, beautifully shaped and detailed trees there is a lot going on in here... but it quite an endearing piece! Charted for either silks for DMC, it's quite large, and measures approx 19-1/2 x 27 on 28ct... to 14 x 19 on 40! Very well done... we have the model in the shop, and it's stunning!

Antique Locks and Keys from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Antique Locks and Keys
This is kind of a neat design... it needs to be stitched and tucked in the middle of a collection of samplers or pin cushions. It'd be pretty in a curio cabinet! The models are stitched in Plush Plum Belle Soie Silk -- but you can choose any color you wish. The fabric is 36ct Fresco... but you can change that, too!

Again, Teresa added a bit of antique lace along the bottom area. We ordered this as both the single chart, and kitted with the 36ct fresco hand-dyed and the Plum silk. Finishes approx 4-1/2 x 5.

Celebrating UFOs! License and Pin Set from Raise the Roof -- click to see more Celebrating UFOs! License and Pin Set!
One of my favorite finds at Market came from Teresa and Sue at Raise The Roof. UFO is the affectionate name assigned to Un-Finished-Objects. You know... the stuff you started years ago, but just can't stand to look at anymore... you'll never finish them. This Licence and Pin Set can *set you FREE!* Somehow, Teresa's creative brain decided that it was OK to CUT UP some horrid thing you've started... and make a totally *dorky* pin cushion out of it... decorating it with this official UFO medallion and space-ship pin!!!!!

Oh my gosh... this is the funniest thing! Don't let this ugly model picture deter you! Your Official UFO License includes a coupon giving you permission to destroy what was, once, a piece of needleart! Her story that comes with it is delightful... and I cannot tell it here! YOUR pincushion could never look like hers... because each UFO has it's *own putrid personality!*... but think of the stitch group gift possibilities here!!! Everyone could make one, and it could be the gift exchange! You could raid the bottom of your friend's stitching tote, secretly steal her *embarrassment,* and turn it into the most charming UFO Cushion... presenting it to her with honor! Teresa's imagination at work!!!!! Anyway, Raise The Roof's UFO License comes with a bit of History, finishing suggestions, Teresa's *unfortunate* example -- pictured in living color, and the exclusive UFO label and space-ship pin. YOU supply the awful needlework!!! We have extra Space Ship pins available, in case you have more than one *Special Needs* piece!!!

Here's the Leprechaun's laundry... how can this NOT bring a smile to your face?? If you're Irish, this needs to hang in your laundry room. If you OWN a cleaners... this needs to hang in your reception area! If you have a janitorial service... this needs to be hanging where customers calling can see -- Clean and Green is a good motto!

Just so cute, Raise The Roof introduces yet another Clothesline selection! Check out the Scrub-a-Dub-Dub -- in case you deal with the medical field. This whole series is just too much fun. Offered as the chart, there is a button embellishment set available as well.

Jenny Bean's Christmas Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more
Jenny Bean's Christmas Sampler
A sweet little Christmas sampler, the verse reads; 'and had I but one penny, thou shouldst have it to buy gingerbread.'

Shakespeare's Peddler's imaginary Jenny Bean has stitched this as a Christmas Wish for her friend! The pine trees and boughs are a pretty touch. Stitched with Sampler Threads overdyeds, this finishes approx 7 x 9 on 32ct. Offered as the chart.

Christmasland! from Raise the Roof and Crescent Colours - click to see more Christmasland!
from Raise the Roof and Crescent ColoursRaise the Roof has designed a fun new Christmas Village piece for Crescent Colours, and we now have all four parts!!! 'The streets are filled with visions grand -- a lovely night in Christmasland!'

Crescent is offering it in four parts, each with the chart, Belle Soie hand-dyed silks and a set of Just Another Button Company clay buttons. Choose any 32ct linen, and this will finish approx 17 x 4.

Jenny Bean's Halloween Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Jenny Bean's Halloween Sampler
from Shakespeare's Peddler'When I am dead and in my grave, and all my bones are rottin', If this you see - Pray - think of me, Or I will be forgotten.' Teresa of Shakespeare's Peddler has created little miss Jenny Bean... and this is Jenny's first sampler! Ms Bean's charming (really!) 160 x 160 stitch count sampler is worked with a *special limited collection* (so get them now!) of Gentle Art's Sampler Threads -- Parched Bones, Nightmare, Coffin Lid, Sarcophagus, Dried Blood, Burial Ground, Witch's Wart, Zombie Flesh and Swamp Water!!! Can you believe those names???

Anyway, the piece is surrounded by a leafy border, pumpkins in the corners, a cozy log cabin of lots of browns, the alphabet that features different fonts for every letter (I love that!), the tiny family graveyard below the willow tree, and the little fish skeleton and rat down in the bottom blocks! Predominent colors of browns, mossy greens, blued blacks and brick, it is simply the cutest little piece!!! One of the gals in the shop doesn't **do rotting bones and such**, so she's simply going to leave off the verse! Offered as a chart, there is a matching pin cushion, too!

Jenny Bean's Pin Tuffet from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more
Jenny Bean's Pin Tuffet
from Shakespeare's PeddlerOh, this is so cute!! It matches the main JB Halloween Sampler... but has only happy motifs on it! (No skulls or 'rottin' bones!!!) A butterfly and floral urn, it's stitched on 40ct, but I believe 32 will still fit the Sudberry House Shaker Pin Cushion.

Shakespeare's Peddler has commissioned JABCO to make a special set of pins for this piece, so we're offering them together as a set! Black, caramel and butterscotch flowers, they're cute perched in the cushion!

Monthly Mockeries from Raise the Roof -- click to see more
Monthly Mockeries This is a fun set of monthly designs that should remind you of Lizzie Kate's Double Flips -- the cute Living With Charm series. Linda of Lizzie Kate and Teresa & Sue of Raise the Roof are friends. RTR wanted to have fun with LK's premise... so Linda gave 'her sight-unseen and trusted 'Blessing' to RTR for a little clean, harmless fun!

There are 4 charts in this series... 3 designs in each... all finish approx 23 x 60 stitches -- choose whatever fabric you like best! You probably know *someone* who needs just one or two of these for their desk at work... or as a bedroom doorknob hanger! (Actually 'Take a Hike' and 'Go Fly a Kite' are truly fun for kite fliers and hikers! and 'No Way, Jose' might be a fun diet reminder on the refrigerator door!!!)

Strictly for fun... each little Mockerie (unofficial name *really wanted to be* Flip-Offs but RTR didn't want ANYONE upset over that one!) features a clay button embellishment, too. Buy them individually, or get the whole set!

Words to Live By from Raise the Roof -- click to see more Words to Live By
from Raise the RoofBy Raise the Roof, in Designer Sue's own words... 'Holy Moses! It's the Ten Commandments in Rhyme!

This is an AWESOME piece!!! It's a re-write of the Ten Commandments, with all sorts of fun little motifs and clay buttons scattered about! We spent some time speculating what all the small pics meant -- it was kind of fun to guess.

Stitched in either DMC, Weeks flosses or Belle Soie hand-dyed silks this finishes approx 15-1/2 x 20 on 32ct! The colors in the linen in the pic actually make this 'busier' than it really is... actually quite a clear, easy chart to work! Offered as a leaflet.

Sarah Woodham 1770 from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more
Sarah Woodham 1770
from Shakespeare's PeddlerThis is Teresa's reproduction of a 1770's sampler she fell in love with in an antique shop and purchased! Beautifully charted, she has an entire page of thoughts about the original stitcher, her talents, and ideas about missing motifs and color choices. The verse is a prayer by Sarah that gives thanks for her good life, and a plea to make her a better person towards others. The words are all stitched over one thread, while the rest of the piece is over two -- Teresa says this has over 25,000 stitches in it! Charted for DMC, Sampler Threads or silks, this finishes approx 12 x 14-1/2 on 40ct!

Simply lovely, this piece has such balance, pretty and graceful motifs, awesome color, and just general CHARM! One of Teresa's favorite parts are the two girls near the bottom that are standing there with their hands on their hips! Definitely a happy sampler! Offered as a chart.

Antique Spring Sampler -- Ann Hobbs 1834 from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more
Antique Spring Sampler -- Ann Hobbs 1834
from Shakespeare's PeddlerThis is another sampler residing in Teresa's *Private Collection* (how neat is that!) that came from England. Originally stitched in 1834, the color palette of this features soft shades of beige, blue, gold, rose and coral -- so lovely!

Teresa includes a page of history about Ann, where she came from, and speculation about ink spills on her original piece. That sort of thing is so much fun to read about!

The verse reminds one to not put off things that are worthwhile... not 'To Put Religion By'...Very, very pretty! (She loaned us her stitched piece for a few weeks!)

Sampler Stationery from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Sampler Stationery
from Shakespeare's PeddlerLove all those pretty samplers? No time to get 'em stitched? Shakespeare's Peddler has reproduced part of Ann Hobb's piece, Sarah Woodham's piece, and Jenny Bean's sampler and tuffet onto stationery cards.

Scrub-a-Dub-Dub from Raise the Roof -- click to see more Scrub-a-Dub-Dub
By Sue of Raise the Roof... her 'real daytime job' is in the medical field, so she has dedicated this pattern to anyone who knows what a 'Code Brown' is!!! The next in Raise the Roof's series of clotheslines... Sue described the seemingly-ever-pulled-out cord on the IV machines... and the nurse call-button, which is *never* where it needs to be... I love the skull button on the X-Ray, and there's even a little bed pan button from Just Another Button Company on there!

Offered as a leaflet with buttons separately, this finishes approx 7 x 15 on a 14/28ct. Stitched with DMCs and Crescent overdyeds, Sue wanted this to be perfect for ANYONE in the medical field, whether they were the surgeon, the nurse or the one who has to take care of that CODE! Real Cute!

A Weary World Rejoices from Shakespeare's Peddler -- click to see more A Weary World Rejoices  from Shakespeare's PeddlerTeresa of Raise the Roof must have a split personality!!!!! She's designed this lovely little sampler -- under her other name of Shakespeare's Peddler that features words from 'O Holy Night.' 'The thrill of hope, A weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks A new and glorious morn.' Teresa has a couple of paragraphs inside the pattern that tell of her inspiration for this piece... and the meanings of the symbols she has included in her original design. Just makes my heart warm all over!!!

Of special note are the colors called for in this sampler. Gentle Art dyed a special set of Winter Threads last year... and Teresa used that Limited Edition set! Not to worry, though! She has also converted those colors into those in the regular line in case you didn't get it. But if you were lucky enough to collect that little bag of threads this year -- HERE is something awesome to stitch with them!!! A petite sampler, this finishes approx 8 x 12 on 32ct... but you can choose any count you wish. Offered as the chart.

Mom's tongue-in-cheek reminder to teenagers... what about hanging this in an attorney's office, or the court-clerk's office? Actually, all four businesses featured ARE respected professions... so if you own a skin-care facility... this might be darling in your reception area!

Finishing approx 3 x 4-ish, Theresa's finishing treatment is darling! She's stretched him over a board -- foam core would be good -- and then tucked various glass beads onto pins, dabbed a bit of glue on pin end, and stuck them into the sides of the board. Really, really cute, what a great way to show off cool beads from your stash!
