This is a stunning multi-stitch band sampler by Sampler Cove! Not for the weak-of-stitcher, it finishes an impressive 11 x 24 over two on 32ct. Stitched in either silks or DMCs, the colors are bright and bold -- super-pretty brilliant reds (666, 321, 814 and 816), golds (728, 780, 782, 783) and greens (3011, 3012, and 3013).

It features 11 different stitches -- you'll notice the 2 blocks of Bargello near the center, there is lots of Double Running, Queens, Eyelets, Spider Webs, Long Arm, Satin, 4-Sided... it's just an awesome piece! Split it up and stitch just a few parts (those Bargello blocks are killer-cool!), decorate a basket with one of the bands... make some ornaments or fobs... there is a lot you can do with this, a lot to enjoy, without committing to stitching the entire design! Offered as the chart.

Our Anniversary from Sampler Cove -- click to see more Our Anniversary

Wow... this is a beautiful piece... so soft and flowing... very traditional... organized and symetric, but not boring! Stitched in only regular Cross Stitch in three different shades of red, you can choose any fabric and threads/colors you wish!

Offered as the chart, this stitch count is 185 x 275, so it'll finish approx 11-1/2 x 17 over two on 32ct. If you choose an overdyed silk -- you'll need only one color, but since it is charted for 3 shades, you have some options! Stitch the alphabets, or use them simply as the charts to personalize this the way you want. Very pretty!

This is an elegant study of hand-dyed gold silk on black. Stitched entiIs certainly the truth if you stitch this piece!!!! Presented by Sampler Cove, this is FULL, FULL of specialty stitches -- the kind you find in all the 18th century English Band Samplers. Exquisite. brilliant colors of reds, blues, purples, golds and greens... the top 3/5 of the piece is solid Queens, Double Running, Double Back, Detached Buttonhole, etc. If you like Darlene O'Steen's things... this is for YOU!!! Then we get Cut and Drawn Work, then Whitework, then Hardanger.

Pages and pages and pages and pages (well, 27 of them!) of diagrams and charts... to stitch this 21 x 8 explosion of creativity! Charted for silks or DMC... it is stunning! Very involved, very crisp, very planned and balanced... it *WILL* represent your time well spent!

Sirin Jaidee from Sampler Cove - click for more Sirin Jaidee

Oh my gosh... this is quite a striking piece! As a gal from Wisconsin and Oklahoma... I look at this... and really feel 'out of my element' with it, because I can't pronounce the title, and I don't know what the motifs in the piece mean. UNTIL... I open the package... and read designer Diane Jourdan's (who lives in Thailand) intro!

This is her second Thai motif sampler (the first is that awesome Siam Fusion that is such an eye-catcher in the shop) and is inspired by her trip last February to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Sirin is her daughter's best friend, Jaidee is a Thai word that means 'Good Heart.' It's also a Thai surname. Sirin is Belgian. So, upon asking Sirin's mother how a Belgian girl ended up with a Thai name... She replied that Sirin 'was made in Thailand!!!'

So now, I see a brilliantly colored flowing sampler full of youth, excitement and grace! Stitched on 32ct Black Belfast Linen (a definite challenge!) the colors are rusts, golds and olive greens. Coded for either silks or DMC cottons... it is lovely!!! Picture some of those individual motifs stitched on fobs and little cases, too! Offered as a chart.

This is an elegant study of hand-dyed gold silk on black. Stitched entirely in one color -- choose your favorite, and change the linen color -- you are allowed to do that! A lacy, balanced geometric, the stitch count is 187 square.

Very pretty, the gold and black color combination is an absolute show-stopper in the shop! You'll have to click the image at right to really see the beauty of this piece. Offered as the chart.

Spanish Bleu from Sampler Cove - click to see more Spanish Bleu
Sampler Cove has a piecesthat is an absolute show-stopper in the shop! It measures approx 180 x 280 in stitch count... so use that info to figure out what linen size would be your fabric of choice. Monochromatic... YES, you could do the blue one in red...or the red one in blue.. (or either of them in green or gold!!!)

The design details are lovely, they're intricate, busy and sophisticated! and... NOTHING says you can't stitch 'parts and bands' rather than the whole thing! Each is quite lovely and very commanding in our displays! Each is offered as a chart.

Siam Fusion from Sampler Cove -- click to see a larger view Siam Fusion
Sounds like a Sci-Fi Experiment! Designer Diane Jourdan is currently living in Thailand, and brings us this pair of samplers based on Thailand embroideries in her collection. The country's official name was Siam until 1949 when it was changed to Thailand (so NOW I know where Anna and The King really were! Kind of fun to remember that old movie!)

Anyway, this pair of pieces is stitched on 32ct Black Belfast linen in brilliant silks of white, blues and gold. No special stitches... just rich, exuberant color and striking motifs, borders and bands all tucked together on black. Definitely NOT for the weak-eyed stitcher... this really does need to be worked on that dark fabric, so it's quite a challenge to see, I am sorry to report.

The finished pieces are on display in the shop, and are really show-stoppers! Offered as both charts in the same package, Siam Fusion Motifs measures 200 x 300 stitches (approx 12-1/2 x 19!) and Siam Fusion Band measures approx 8 x 16. Time for a new stitching lamp!!!?

Celtic Garden from Northern Expressions - click to see more Celtic Garden
from Northern ExpressionsThis is a striking Celtic-inspired piece that is a study in Hungarian and Eyelet stitch! The green is all plain Cross Stitch, but the flowers are bursts of Satins -- placed for color and impact! (A lot like Bargello.) Stitched on 40ct, this finishes approx 11 x 11.

The chart will take a bit of studying on your part before you begin... and I'm thinking some of these flowers would be stunning as individual pin cushions or sewing case covers! Real unusual! Offered as a chart.

Double Dutch from Sampler Cove -- click to see more

Double Dutch
171 x 263 -- Approx 11 x 16 on 32ct, the pattern calls for 3 hand-dyed silk colors.

The model is worked in midnight blues, dark gold and a rosewood, so think of the room you'd like to hang this in, and choose something elegant! Crescent Colours's Belle Soie is PERFECT for this!

Wise from Sampler Cove -- click to see more
Wise
107 x 210 -- Approx 7 x 13 on 32ct, this is worked in two shades of 4 different colors... so again... pick some pretty hand-dyed that accent each other and fit the color of your room.

Little bits of Rhodes and Queen stitches, lots of Double Running... the model is personally too bright for my taste, but the actual design and flow of the stitches is lovely!

Acorns Away from Sampler Cove -- click to see more Acorns Away
Wow... this is a very traditional 18th Century English-inspired piece from a design company in Thailand! All the acorn borders are stitched using Alternating Back Stitch, Double Running, Four Sided, Queen, Smyrnas, Eyelets and Rice Stitches -- all the traditional stitches you'd expect to see in a sampler like this.

Stitched in 8 solid colors of silks -- one light and dark shade each of green, gold, orange and brown -- think about using some of the new Crescent Colours Belle Soie silks, or some overdyed flosses to soften the motifs a little.

A beginner-level piece... if you really like this look, check out more involved Nostalgic Needle, Needles Prayse and Periwinkle Promises pages we offer. Acorns Away gives you their feel, with lovely lines, and an easy color and stitch palette! Offered as a chart, this finishes approx 7 x 15 on 35ct!
