Santa Biscornu This is stitched on 20ct Natural Linen, so the model has finished into a generous 5 x 5 piece. Stitching Parlour's cute little cushion would be awesome on something smaller, too, and would make a neat ornament to hang on the tree. Stitched with Gentle Art Simply Wool, (coded for DMC floss, as well.) the Santa beards are Rainbow Gallery's Wisper! Notice the blue Eyelet snowflakes scattered everywhere? They cover the bottom side... and each evergreen tree is topped with a JABCO star button. Offered as a chart, this is just plain cute!
Mini Celebrations The Stitching Parlour has a new collection of monthly designs, all presented together in one chart pack! Each month's square is cute... but POPS with personality when you add all the Just Another Button Company clay buttons! The chart runs only $10... the buttons, quite a bit more! (but it's worth it!) Stitched with Crescent Colours hand-dyed flosses, this finishes approx 9 x 12 on 28ct. Really cute... all those buttons make this so much fun to enjoy!
Spring PurseStitch a pretty Crewel-embroidery-inspired piece... complete with Chain, Satin, Buttonhole Bars, Cross Stitch and French Knots. This finishes approx 6 x 8 on 32ct, and is worked entirely in regular DMC flosses. The stitching instructions are clear -- but there are NO stitch diagrams in here!!!!! If you need a bit of help, you'll have to reference your stitch diagram reference books!!! The cover picture is really clear... but it is your only reference for pics of those special stitches! If you're familiar with them, you'll have no problems working this.
Fall Biscornu and Tape Measure CoverSquirrels and acorns decorate these two matching pieces... one a cushion, the other a stitched cover for a plastic re-tracting tape measure. Stitched on Weeks 30ct Angel Hair linen in Crescent Colours overdyeds, the squirrel is done with Wisper, from Rainbow Gallery. The Gentle Art Simply Wool would be perfect for him, as well. Finishing instructions are included, but no pics. Offered as the chart.
Tulip NeedlebookThis is a tri-fold case that is mainly Cross Stitch, with a bit of Lazy Daisy in the leaves of the tree branches. OK... it's pretty *yellow*... that's the Desert Sand linen, which *can* be changed to something a little less 'yellow!' Lovely colors of Sampler Threads are used, and the case opens in the center, so that's kind of fun. A pretty piece, there is lots of room inside for needle pages, thread rings and a pair of scissors. Offered as the chart.
Fanny's TreasuresInspired by Jane Austin's Mansfield Park, Stitching Parlour presents this little sampler. 'We have all a better guide in ourselves, if we would attend to it, than any other person can be.' Offered as a chart, this finishes approx 12 x 4-ish on 32ct, and is worked in Gentle Art's Shaker Sampler Threads. A few Satin and Spider Web roses in here... you could really get some textures going in that grass, the leaves and that water, if you want! I see 6 different places for initials... I'm not sure what that's all about, but you could add all the family members or some ancestors...
Happy Easter EtuiA Springtime-themed sewing set, this is stitched on Weeks 30ct Honeysuckle Linen in Sampler Threads of Porcelain, Gold Leaf, Bluebell, Geranium, Hibiscus, Chives, Bayberry and Apple Cider. Quite strong colors, actually, the set consists of a pretty roll-up case (chart includes those three heart-shaped cuts of felt), thread Keep Bag, Pin Cushion and tiny Easter Egg fob. There are instructions included to line a large paper-mache egg with silk fabric, making a drawstring bag to hold all your precious pieces, and source for the paper egg is included. Very pretty and unusual. Offered as the chart.
My First Sewing Box and Scissor FobA favorite from last year... I thought I'd re-introduce this darling pattern, because the tin it uses is so very limited in availability! This time of year, The Russell Stover Chocolate Company makes pastel-colored tins full of chocolate with their traditional cross-stitched motifs on the top of the tin. Stitching Parlour has taken the seasonal pink, yellow and green tins and charted linings for the empty tin -- once the chocolate has been devoured! This charming cross stitch design matches the decoration on the tins, and with all the different colors of hand-dyed linens available... you can match the interior the your tin's exterior color! Simple cross-stitches, I just thought this was so charming when I saw it! The chase has been to find the tins -- but Valentine candy goes away next Sunday, February 15th... and Easter Candy instantly appears!!! Anyway... FIND your tin... and then agonize over interior linen color! Turns out the Weeks Hand-dyed Sophie's Pink, Banana Popsicle and Scuppernong linen look great with all the Crescent Colours in all the tins!!! Decisions, decisions -- at least you'll have chocolate to eat while thinking that hard!
Liberty Tin Sewing BoxHead to the Grocery Store to buy 16 oz of Mrs Fields Cookies!!! You'll find them in a metal heart-shaped tin... that you'll need for this cute stitching box! Liberty Tin Sewing Box was originally designed in 2005 -- and the tins are still on the market -- so you'll need 28ct natural linen, and regular DMC flosses, and some cute patriotic lining fabric to make your look like the pic. (Actually, I think I would get my lining fabric first, then change any thread colors you need to. More thread choices than seasonal fabric choices these days!) Anyhow, the tin top features red stripes of Smryna Cross Stitch over 4 threads -- speedy to execute! Leaves on the tree are Lazy Daisies. The blue area is decorated with 13 Mill Hill ceramic star buttons -- Homespun Elegance's Olde Brass Buttons would be stunning on this, as well. Notice the tiny pin cushion tucked inside -- it's pretty cute, too! Just a fun piece to have! Offered as the chart.
Birth of JesusStitching Parlour has had a nice piece out for a while that is a pretty Nativity scene. Offered in chart format, it measures approx 6 x 18 on 14 or 28ct. What makes it special, though, are the Lazy Daisy stitches that make up all the palm fronds! They add so much interest, they just make this piece 'POP!' It is embellished with a Mill Hill gold star button, and calls for 30 bitty brass stars to embellish the trees. In lieu of the stars, we suggest gold beads -- probably already in your stash, and they won't tarnish! A charming Christmas piece.
