In The Meadow from Country Cottage Here's a cute piece stitched on Week's 30ct Scuppermong linen in 5 Crescent Colours hand-dyeds of Bamboo, Bramble Bush, Blackbird, Hazelnut and Steamed Broccoli. Finishing approx 7-1/2 x 8-1/2, you could stitch just the evergreens and snowman for a mini-version! Pretty colors in this one, offered as a chart.
Vintage Christmas Seven blocks of greenery, cottages, Rudolph and snowflakes, this 8-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch medley features a retro pink and aqua color scheme. If you're more of a traditional gal -- color-wise -- pull out your reds and greens, and stitch this YOUR WAY! Cute design, I think all the snowflakes would be pretty with bits of opalescent metallic tossed in! Offered as a chart.
Sunflowers in Summer Over by the fence where the sunflowers grow, summer winds glide by as stalks sway to and fro. The cute farmhouse, the garden of sunflowers, and the busy bees everywhere... this finishes approx 9-1/2 inches square on Weeks 30ct Cocoa Linen. Stitched with a combo of overdyed flosses, it doesn't call for any bee embellishments, but little bee buttons everywhere would be really cute!
A Day at the Beach This isn't fair... it's 100+ degrees in Oklahoma... and I don't live near the water! This cool and soothing medley of fun beach-y, boat-y and water-y treats makes me so envious! Soft DMC shades mixed with a few Sampler Threads and Crescent cottons, you could stitch just some of the sections or all of them! Bunny Hop and Sheep in the Meadow Country Cottage Needleworks has two new designs -- they seem to pair nicely, so I thought we'd show them that way! Both have a stitch count of 75 x 173, are stitched on 28ct Lambswool Linen, and call for Weeks hand-dyeds and DMCs. Cute verses, charming little rolling hills, I love those carrots scattering the Bunny Hop lawn!
Snowflake Serenade Country Cottage Needleworks has a new piece -- a celebration of Snow and White Christmases. If the holiday passes, and you've not finished this (!), take out the references to Christmas, and add your family names, and document a famous family snowman creation from years past! (I've seen people attach photographs to the back of needlework pieces to document events... so if you get 60 inches of snow this year -- like last -- take a pic and stick it on the back of your framed piece!) So... our little cottage looks like a white pumpkin, and it does have some growing in its garden... but there are orange ones, too... for a bit more color, and really great pie! Garden of Snow Snowflakes dangle from tree branches, sprout forth from leaves, and grow like flowers. It is indeed a garden of snow. The design was stitched on 28 count Natural Linen and uses DMC threads, as well as Crescent Colours' Poblano Pepper and Sampler Threads' Maple Syrup and Old Blue Paint.
Spring Social from Country Cottage Needleworks and Crescent ColoursBirdhouse Garden is the first design featured in Country Cottage's new Spring Social set of 5 designs. She's going to do all 4 seasons, so this is companion to Winter Wonderland, already released. This series features light shades of pink and blue, and bright yellows. A Pirate’s Life Country Cottage Needleworks has a neat piece that needs to hang in a little boy’s bedroom… or needs to be made into a pillow and stashed aboard the family ‘yacht!’ It’d be fun at the lake house, too… I can just hear those salty pirates singing away! Mermaids Stitch your sampling of mermaids – just one or all four – stitched on Weeks 30ct Morris Blue, this finishes 4-1/2 x 9-1/2. The mermaids feature French Knot necklaces, but they would be fun to bead! There are tiny scallops stitched in the sand near the bottom… charted for regular cross stitch. (Those are fun to stitch by making 5 or 6 long stitches in a ray shape, and then weaving back and forth across them – it makes a curvy little shell!) Pretty colors of pastel pinks, aqua, lime green and amethyst!

Little League and Little Ballerinas Well, I have a grandson this would be perfect for... oh, if only I stitched! (No, your Weary Webmaster, writing this description in Lindy's absence, doesn't stitch... isn't that ironic?) The design has a historic flavor that reminds me of the time of the old NY Yankees... Babe Ruth and all that. Stitched with Crescent Colours threads, it measures about 8 1/2 x 5 1/4, and comes with an alphabet so you can personalize it. Little Ballerinas, a design for dancers and those who love them, is the same size, and also includes the alphabet. The overdyed threads used in some areas give you more dimension, don't you think?

Home Sweet Home Well, the verse says it all in this charming piece! Very soft and feminine, wouldn't this be darling on the bed in a pink and cream bedroom??? Stitched on 28ct Natural linen, this finishes approx 7 x 7-1/2. Sometimes the dye-lots can really vary in the overdyeds... so be careful to get a vibrant one for the red in this piece! It'll make those geraniums POP!
My Beloved 'I am my Beloved's and my beloved is mine' reads the verse on this simple piece. What a pretty sentiment for a wedding remembrance, or anniversary piece! Raspberry Patch Sitting in their patch, clustered on a vine, the berries grow sweet in the warm sunshine! (They must not have rabbits where Nikki lives!!! They're all in my backyard eating MY berries!!!) Offered as a chart, finishing approx 12 x 7, this is a pretty piece that seems to belong in a sunny breakfast nook area. Although there are no embellishments, this looks like bumble bee and ladybug buttons would be welcome... or some tiny pink rounds to be the berries. Very pretty!

Rose Cottage "Home is where your flowers grow," is the sentiment surrounding a tiny rose-colored cottage, that in turn, is surrounded by a pretty, stylized floral border. Offered as a chart from Country Cottage Needleworks, the design finishes approx 7 x 7 on 28ct Cream Cashel Linen. Stitched in a combination of solid DMC and Crescent Colours overdyed flosses, Trail Creek Farm has made a delicately patterned flange pillow that is a soft blue-green on the front, and rose, cream and green floral stripe on the back. Flower Shop Country Cottage's newest design, Flower Shop is a companion to 'Bakery.' Showing the same Country French feeling to me, this is such a pretty window scene. All the flowers and plants are lined up, and stitched in Crescent (2 colors, which I've listed below in the drop-downs) and DMC flosses. Blue Violets, Grape, Lavenders and Dusty Rose colors all blend with the greens, and all of it is set off with a crisp black and white checkered cloth. Winter Welcome A quaint ice-blue cottage, shivery cold, but cozy in the wintry landscape! Just a simple greeting for your foyer or family room, this measures approx 6 x 8 on 28ct Natural linen, and is stitched using Tarnished Gold and Grape Leaf Sampler Threads, Petite Maison Crescent Colours, a few DMC cottons and DMC silver metallic! Ladybugs and Bumblebees This is one of the first two releases by a new designer Country Cottage Needleworks -- Nikki is the daughter of Diane of Little House Needleworks! Ladybugs is just charming... as is The Bakery! 'The ladybugs and bumblebees do while away the hours By traveling through garden leaves and dancing in the flowers.' is the verse, and upon closer study... you'll find all those little critters scattered everywhere in this piece. Stitched on 32ct, it finishes an impressive 5 x 12, and is worked in Sampler Threads, Crescent overdyeds and a few DMCs. Pretty Dandelion Stem, Little Pink Peony, and the soft green colors, very pretty!
The Bakery What a cheerful shop window of delicate, delicious, decadent treats!!! Reminiscent, to me, of the bakery windows in France, this would be so nice in a kitchen or breakfast nook. Stitched on 32ct Country French Cafe Mocha Linen, this finishes approx 6 x 8... and is full of soft whites, pinks, greens, and touches of gray and salmon. One of the overdyed colors is even named Perfect Pie Crust!!! There are a few French Knots scattered here and there... the berries on the pies and in the muffins! I've just re-done my kitchen in dark wood cabinets, and sage green walls ... this'll be perfect for me!
