Jessie Bell - Arizona Territory 'Jessie Bell was a very real girl who lived in Tucson in the Arizona Territory. She was the daughter of a railroad engineer at the time the sampler is dated, living on a prominent street in what is now the heart of downtown Tucson. Her home no longer exists, but her name lives on in this sampler.' Diane goes on to mention that she has included errors and a misspelling in her design to create an authentic flavor to the piece! Offered as a chart, stitched with Crescent Colours hand-dyeds or DMC flosses, this finishes approx 5-1/2 x 9 on the most yummy Week's 30ct Straw linen.
2012 Monthly Ornament Series Little House Needleworks begins her 2012 set of 12 monthly ornament-sized designs with Blessed -- I think she could double as a bride! Offered in small chart format, each month will call for a different color of 30ct Week's Dye Works hand-dyed linen, along with a smattering of hand-dyed flosses from your stash. This first design accents Crescent Colour's new hand-dyed chenille cotton trim around the finished edge. I don't know if the rest of the finished pieces will feature special trims -- we just need to be patient to find out! We are beginning an auto-ship this year on these... chart only or chart and linen. I'll let you know if trim will become an option! Elizabeth Hancock Sampler Diane Williams has adapted an antique sampler originally stitched in 1831 by Elizabeth Hancock. 'I sigh not for beauty nor languish for wealth...' begins the verse on this piece. Little House has reproduced only the top half of the original sampler... but kept all the mistakes and design oddities from the original in her new design. It's a lovely piece, offered as a chart, it measures 15-3/4 x 18, worked on 30ct Weeks Straw Linen. Charted for Crescent Colors Belle Soie silk, hand-dyed flosses or regular DMC, Diane promises to present the bottom half of the original sampler -- the Adam and Eve portion -- in an upcoming chart!
New England Winter Sampler Coverlet motifs, floral urns, the alphabet, couple, homestead and wandering border... all the traditional sampler elements are here for a wintery- wedding sampler! Offered as a chart, this finishes almost 12 inches square on Week's 30ct Cocoa Linen. Pretty overdyeds, there is plenty of room in the bottom motif area to add lots of family personalization!
This is My Joy! Little House has a charming Christmas design that has several stitching options to choose from (but hopefully not confuse!) This is My Joy is a small chart, finishing approx 4 x 4 on 30ct fabric. Offered with one skein of Crescent Colours Belle Soie Silk, the digital pic on the front suggests different silk and fabric combinations. Diane offers 4 different options -- but if YOU want a different color of silk -- we'll pull it out of the pack and change it for you -- and make up a new fabric choice, as well! Clockwise from left suggests Weeks Dye Works 30ct Cocoa with Crescent's Collard Greens. Top right suggests Parchment linen with Red Fox. Bottom right suggests 28ct Scuppermong Gingham Linen with Icing silk, while bottom left suggests Tin Roof linen with Cinnamon Stick. 2011 Ornaments Here is Little House's complete set of ornament designs for 2011! Cardinal Winter is presented as a small chart, and calls for Crescent Colours hand-dyed flosses, and DMC Jan, Feb and March's designs are all promised to be worked on weeks 30ct Cocoa Linen... and they are switching fabric colors every three months. The Tin Roof linen they are using on the next three ornaments is just awesome! Absolutely charming, you can almost hear the singing birds, against the quiet of the freshly fallen snow, and the silent little rabbits! 57 x 57 Stitch count, these will all finish approx 4 x 4. Our monthly auto-ship has now finished with Good Tidings.

Warm Winter Woolens This is fun! What a well-dressed little guy! On 32ct, the entire piece finishes approx 4-1/2 x 6-1/2. If you want to just make the sheepie, he measures just 56 x 44, and he'd be PRECIOUS stuffed into a cushion or sheep-shape and tucked into a basket. You could even stitch him in Gentle Art's Simply Wool... over-the-top yummy! Very cute design -- offered as a small chart.
12 Days of Christmas The classic song and poem with Little House's updated images. Of course not EVERYONE or THING in the verse is tucked on here... but Diane has done of pretty good job with it! I've hunted for all, and am stumped about the Piper -- but I'm sure he's in her somewhere and I missed him. A fun puzzle of the Season! My Dwelling Place An Early American flavor to me. The big willow, the stars over the house and the flag... very Home Sweet Home America to me! You can almost hear the blackbird singing!!! Stitch count of 138 x 112.
Little Miss Sunflower Little Miss Sunflower is charming in her sunflower garden -- I LOVE those shaded flowers! Notice that this is on 28ct hand-dyed Straw Gingham Linen? Such a great color for this, the gingham pattern makes it another Home Sweet Home kind of thing for me! This one finishes 6 x 7-1/2... you'll definitely want that specialty fabric. LOOK at that row of blackbirds along the bottom...
Autumn Band Sampler A simple study of the changing Autumn landscape and all the garden critters who love it! Check out the bitty squirrels, the acorns, and the row of blackbirds near the bottom. This piece has a lot of really good take-out potential. Look at the various bands -- most can stand on their own as individual pieces or banners around a basket, for instance. Diane has houses in every one of her designs. If you want to get creative with that part... go through your stash, and insert one or two others... just for fun! This one finishes approx 4 x 11.
Summer Splendor Little House Needleworks has a small design stitched in 7 shades of Crescent's hand-dyed flosses of Bandana, Hazelnut, Bean Sprout -- neat colors like that! A 7 x 4 medley of small motifs all clustered together -- like the garden surrounding that little house -- I have a sneaking suspicion we'll get the other seasons in this petite fashion!

Melicent Turner Sampler Diane has purchased her first antique sampler... and adapted the original piece with new colors! Originally worked in 1809, little Melicent probably wanted to go outside and play, but instead needed to stitch her lesson! The Inn at Fox River Mill What a charming piece! Little House's newest design, I love that house on the left -- look at the overdyeds in the stone and the trees. The roof looks like the shingles are really tiny bits of wood! The little fox looks guilty of catching something delicious for lunch, and the mill is really neat over on the right -- especially with it's churning water wheel. Great colors, pretty acorn border along the top, I'd like to live there! Offered as the chart.
Thirteen Colonies WOW this is a pretty piece! Finishing approx 11 x 16 on 32ct, this offers lots of design choices for you! 2010 Ornaments of the Month! Little House is delivering a charming set of 12 ornaments this year... here are the first few of the collection which will finish in December of 2010. Each is offered in chart format, and features approx the same stitch count. Various colors of 30ct linens, a few have beads embellishments, but not all. The designs are 69 x 69 stitches, so finish approx 4-1/2 inches square. *You might want to purchase enough fabric AT ONE TIME to do the year of these. I think most anything will make them look darling -- just choose something YOU like to work on! If you choose a 14/28, you might want a fat half measure. Sarah Street - Faithfulness An old-fashioned girl's sampler by Little House Needleworks, 'Let love and faithfulness never leave you.' Now, you CAN stitch in your own name... or the recipient's... or initials of a special grandmother or other family member... and you can change the date! (ALL in case you don't want someone else's name hanging in your house!!!) Charming borders on this piece... each side is different! You could do a little Bargello in that bottom band, if you wanted to. Simple Joys and The Mercantile Little House Needleworks has two new designs. I love the flowing vine beneath the bird in Simple Joys, this piece has lovely symetry. It begs to be stitched on some mangy hand-dyed linen! The Mercantile goes so perfectly with her Yesteryear and Old West designs, and the Country Cottage Cowboy Dreams piece! State Fair Little House has a new piece that might remind some of you 'old-timers' of the Told in a Garden pieces (that are now 25 years old!!!) we used to love and stitch! Festivities of the local State Fair, the lovely pies and jams, pumpkins, quilts and animals -- all presented with pride and joy -- I love going to our Fair every year! Coming to America This piece commemorates the years of United States history -- 1840 to 1920 -- when America saw its greatest number of immigrant arrivals. Neat design elements, the tall ship, the NY skyline, and the pier in the harbor at Ellis Island... this has a nice feel to it.
