There are so many wonderful designs available that celebrate every season and occasion under the sun... so we thought it'd be fun to collect a few of them, and organize them for you on a set of Holiday/Seasonal Pages. I'm a "seasons" nut... so we'll be adding to these all the time! We have so many other projects and ideas in the shop, and elsewhere on the site, but this is a fun way to show you just a few ..... October 31st from Barbara Ana What a cool little garden! Check out the candy corn flowers with resident spiders! Quaker motifs scattered everywhere, critters all over the place and of course that awesome cat, everything about this screams creativity! Offered as a chart, it finishes approx 6 x 6 over two on 40ct. (127 x 171 Stitches.) Coded for DMC floss, get out your overdyeds and see what else you can add to make this your own. The model is worked on something mangy -- choose something dark enough so that the winter-whites will show up.
Halloween (The Moon Laughs) from Barbara Ana This is a neat design -- and is offered in two different colorways. On lighter linen, choose solid or hand-dyed thread in just a black and gold for the moons and stars. The pic on the darker fabric features everything stitched in DMC flosses -- a combo of 12 classic halloween-y colors! Stitch count of 99 x 171 -- Barbara Ana gives you 'official permission' to pick a hand-dyed linen color of YOUR CHOICE!!! (and I support that!!!)
Trick or Treat from Barbara Ana Too Stinking Cute -- especially because it talks about stinky feet!!! 'Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat!' I know there is lots more to that verse... the girls were reciting it while we were pricing these charts. The kitty atop the boot is perfectly sweet, and how can you not fall in love with these colors! It calls for 5 solid DMC flosses and 6 more of DMC's Variations. Of course, you can pull overdyeds already in your stash... but the Variations might be tempting to try! Offered as a chart, 77 x 79 stitches.
Last Stitch Cemetery and Dark Shadows! from Hinzeit Hinzeit has two new Off the Wall designs! Presented in chart format with the casted charms included each can be stitched on fabric of your choice, and is coded for regular old DMC floss! I LOVE Last Stitch Cemetery! The charms are a skull, a spider, a skein of floss and stork scissors! The grave stones read: 'Started & Forgotten, 1/2 Stitched, Too Old, and Lost Interest!!!' It is just the funniest thing! (Wow... you could even organize your UFOs... and actually label the bins with the individual markers.) Or... what a FUN gift to stitch one little marker to gift to another stitcher!!! The entire piece finishes approx 3 x 13 on 14/28. Dark Shadows is quite the sinister looking piece, as well. With a spider, key and fish skeleton charm trio, these make really unique seasonal decorations -- something fun to pull out every year and smile!
Seasonal Garlands from A Kitty Kat Original Aren't they cute? This is a collection of seasonal motifs -- all dangled together -- to resemble garlands. By A Kitty Kat Original, her set of 5 pieces enchants me! You can stitch them as is -- on one piece of fabric and frame them... OR... you can stitch them on perforated paper or make tiny fabric pillows and actually STRING them... and make stitched garlands! Her cover pics show paper shapes attached together via wire -- that makes them easy to flex and display just the way you want them. They'd be cute on a wreath, too... get some colored lights, some wild ribbon... Offered as charts, you'll find those old-fashioned plastic google eyes featured on the personalities in all but the Ho Ho pattern... so retro and fun! Charted for DMC, google eyes included in charts!
Black Cat Hornbook from Needlemade Designs Oh... these are CUTE!!!! Be Needlemade Designs, choose your favorite kitty-color and stitch him on almost any count of linen, to finish onto one of Priscilla's Pockets hand-made chunky hornbooks! Stitch a black cat or a Siamese, and trim with a border of Nun's Stitch. Offered as a leaflet, there is history of the Nun Stitch included, as well as advice about loving your kitty. Designer, Linda, warns that these are easy enough to stitch and give away as gifts... and the easiest way of finding new homes for your cats!!!
Moonlight Midnight from Blue Ribbon Designs Blue Ribbon Designs offers a busy Halloween Medley piece -- full of fun things for the season. You can always do any of these individually, but together they have lots of impact. I like those ghosts on the broom sticks! Entire piece finishes approx 9 x 13 on 28ct. The smalls feature the metal finishing forms that we sell -- perfect disks of metal to keep a perfect shape. I think that house would make a really cute candy bucket, too! Lots of possibilities with this one!
Fern Ridge has outdone themselves this Season!!! Wait till you see all of Pat and Peggy's amazing stuff! They are making a 4-1/2 x 2 x 1-1/4 inch wooden coffin scissor case -- complete with stitched linens inside! They have a hand-made ceramic painted pumpkin pin cushion... there is a colorful owl needle case kit, and a trio of Peyote Stitch beaded scissor fobs. We have more of their cute things coming... but I didn't want to hold up any of THIS waiting for my second shipment. So here goes!
Candy Corn with Personality! from Sue Hillis Designs Sue Hillis has released a pair of leaflets with the CUTEST Candy Corn designs on them... you have to stitch the whole set of 8! Worked on Hand-dyed linen of orange and yellow... the most charming part of these is the Candy Corn FABRIC! Check it out. It is a 28ct evenweave Lugana-type of fabric that Sue has commissioned to be screened just for her designs. The fabric features large-striped areas of white, yellow and orange -- in the correct order -- so your corns turn out authentically! Just the coolest stuff, the first fabric prototype has a bit of gray between the color changes... but our's will not have that. (It is due in the shop this week.) Just the cutest idea... stitch a bunch of these, and hang them on a knarley Halloween Tree! The stitching all finishes approx 4 x 4; the finishing template on the back cover is a bit larger. Love the cute rik-raks and trims on these, too!
Halloween Memories from Sue Hillis Designs Everyone is gathered here... what a colorful crew! 5-1/2 x12-1/2. On 14/28ct, the blocks by themselves are easy to do... you could even stitch them and finish as individual alphabet blocks! Then, all the creatures could stand alone, as well. I love that little skeleton! Anyway, lots of bright DMC color, this makes a great holiday greeting... way fun to hang for the season! Offered as a leaflet.
Halloween Quadrielle from The Sweetheart Tree Sweetheart Tree's 3rd stitched cube, this little charmer features 4 different Halloween-y scenes -- something not-so-scary on each side! Stitched on 28ct Lambswool Linen in Autumn shades of DMC floss, all are garnished with a generous smattering of Mill Hill petite beads and Sandy's awesome jet-black glass Paillette 'sequins.' Offered as a complete kit of charts, linen, flosses and embellishments -- you will need some fun ribbons to tie that lavish underneath bow -- but with all the fun ribbons available these days, it might be a harder task than you can imagine! Our first Quadrielle, M'Lady's is really pretty as a shop model, so we expect this one to be, too. They finish approx 4 x 4 x 4 in size.
Sunflowers & Bumblebees Welcome and Autumn Pumpkins Welcome from The Sweetheart TreeSweetheart Tree's Summer and Fall editions to her 4-Seasons set of small welcomes... both are offered as complete kits of 32ct Lambswool linen, DMC flosses, Mill Hill beads and Sandy's own silver flower beads! Good color, pretty designs... they have now provided us with the pair of cut boards for finishing your ornament front and back into this unusual 4 x 4-ish shape!
Spooktacular Halloween from The Sweetheart Tree2 x 2 x 2... You get two black cats, two pumpkins, and two spiders! All gracing the cute picket fence (with a heart on it!), even the tree doesn't really look scary! Just a sweet holiday design, it finishes approx 4 x 4. Offered as the complete kit of 28ct Putty Linen, DMC flosses, the embellishments include more of Sandy's silver flower beads, and a bright orange cat's eye heart bead that you can see hanging from the tree branch. Cute!
Homeward Bound from Cross 'N Patch Cross 'N Patch has a new design -- 'Over the river and Through the woods...' this looks like the trip home for Thanksgiving! Offered as a leaflet, Emmie's design has several stitching variations. You can change the landscaping a bit and add more Hardanger down at the bottom area... change the 'tumbling leaves' area... change the Hardanger color to one that matches your fabric... actually quite a few different options. Stitched on 32ct Natural Light Belfast Linen in shades of DMC, the main piece finishes approx 4-1/2 x 10. Included is a darling little strawberry cushion -- it is featured in two different designs on the back cover models. Very pretty, the chart is clear, and the Hardanger instructions are very complete. we just love all those rusts, greens, golds and maple syrup browns!
Bite Night and Zombies from Prairie MoonThe latest two Crypt Club Designs by Prairie Moon have risen from the under to haunt your stitching basket!!! Bite Night actually advertises the favored Sunday MORNING drink! You definitely really love OR hate this set of designs. They definitely fill a niche market, I think they are a riot.. probably not in top-stitching priority on my list... but you gotta love that cocktail waitress! Offered as charts... keep an open mind!
Autumn Buttons & Beads from Mill HillMill Hill has released their Autumn 2011 Button & Bead Kits -- giving us plenty of time to stitch them before this fall! (gosh, isn't it still snowing in NY this week?) Quite a varied collection this year, we're getting the fall football games and quilts to keep you warm, along with a couple of cute Halloween designs! All finish approx 5 x 5 on the 14ct perforated paper included in the kits -- they'll be the same size if you stitch them on 14ct aida or 28ct linen as well. 2011 Autumn Harvest Kits from Mill HillHere's the set of 6 smaller designs that coordinate with this year's larger Button & Bead Kits. The little football is great -- use it for a Christmas ornament for anyone who loves football! The Music piece is the same way -- both could be teacher gifts, something tucked on the front of a photo album... anything. The other 4 designs are all cute Halloween and Fall. Make them into magnets, ornaments, pins to wear, pin 'em to a bulletin board for decoration... be creative! Rest Ye Pins -- The Pin Keeper from Blackberry Lane DesignsWell, isn't this just the cutest stitched tombstone to hold some whimsical pins??? The poem included with the chart warns you to beware of the skeleton hiding behind the stone... he's waiting for YOU to come by! Choose a mangy hand-dyed or stony-colored linen (we have so many choices in several counts) in a 36 count to make this approx 4 x 4 in size. The chart includes assembly instructions for this over-the-top-cute little thing! You'll notice JABCO's Monster Mash Pins garnishing the top, and a dangling purple spider on there, too. the whole thing is a really neat concept, with cute finishing. Halloween from Elizabeth's Designs Elizabeth's designs has a really cool design for Halloween -- very simple, actually! Halloween is spelled out in plain letters, but each letter is 'garnished' with a spider web, bat or crow. The row of pumpkins below is very organized and full of Sweet Potato and Tiger's Eye Weeks Dye Work's color... and that saw-tooth border is simply Satin Stitches of Tobacco Road! Stitched on Weeks 35ct Mocha Linen, the colors really caught my eye, the balance, and those charming spider webs that seem to cling to every nook and crook of those letters -- just like they stick in the nooks and crannies of my house!!! Offered as a leaflet, cute to add some crow or spider buttons, too!
Fall Arrivals from Pine Mountain! Two for September, and two for Halloween -- I just LOVE that 'Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun!' Pine Mountain delivers 4 complete kits of pre-sewn pillows that are ready for your bits of stitching in their center panels. Always cute, new fabrics and bright, happy colors... you can't go wrong with these! Girlfriends and Eat, Drink are the smaller 6 x 6 style that features the pull-out aida -- leave the pillow at home, take the tiny square of fabric and bits of floss with you -- chart is in color, so they're a breeze to stitch. The September Expressions pillow promises crisp apples... but I don't think Fall is scheduled to arrive in Oklahoma this year... (I think it's been cancelled) because it's still 100 degrees here!!!
Stack of Jacks from AB Designs One of 3 new designs... AB Designs has the cutest new stack of pumpkins -- all decorated with Charcoal noses and wired Memory Thread smiles -- stitched in colorful overdyeds on Weeks 30ct Guacamole linen! Offered as the chart, with embellishments, Stack of Jacks measures approx 3-1/2 x 7 inches -- actually kind of teeny! It is the first in 4-seasons... Stack of Snow will be Winter's design, (coming the end of Sept.) Stack of Butterflies comes for the Spring, and Stack of Bees is the Summer edition. The black Memory Thread is a coated wire that you bend and twist, to make any shape you want. It gets 'tacked' onto your finished stitching, and really POPS! I just love the colors on this one -- green linen and backgrounds, bright oranges and yellows in the pumpkins, and that purple moon! Offered as the chart with embellishments, the Memory thread is separate, and comes on a card of 3 yards, which will probably last you forever!
The Halloween Branch -- Hooty Hoo Owl and Border from Bent Creek Bent Creek has a new 3-part design joining their series of 'Branch' designs... this one features a cute verse; 'When the owl and witch together are seen, There's mischief brewing on Halloween.' So far, we have that chubby little owl, some ghosts and crotchety-looking spiders! This first chart includes the chart for all you see, along with snap and button embellishments. The next two designs will come as small charts, with more snaps. (They usually run $7-ish.) Measuring 5 x 11 on 32ct, you can choose any fabric you like, and you can use either DMCs or overdyeds from your stash. August 6 Autumn Glory Humbug from Just Nan Just Nan's 4th Seasonal Humbug for 2010 is here! Rounding out her tiny set of 4 pin cushions, Autumn Glory is stitched on Light Sand Cashel Linen in DMC flosses. Sometimes described in the shop as little pillowy-triangle-thingies each little Humbug is covered with small stitched flowers and motifs and a tiny verse that is two threads high (!) that wraps around 'the bottom.' (But sometimes the bottom is on the top!) Nan describes Autumn Glory: '...richly colored autumn leaves, luscious grapes, acorns, sunflowers and 2 little crows stitched over 1. Apples in red gold and Granny Smith form the bottom border and 'Shine on harvest moon' is the repeating verse.' Nan's Charm Garden Harvest Moon pin is included and features glass and crystal beads in those yummy autumn hues. We have the other seasons available as well... this is a cute set of smalls! The Frankster from AB Designs Witchypoo's Main Squeeze! ab Designs has sent us the cutest little Frankenstein monster to stitch, and we have plenty of time to finish him before The Big Day!!! The 5 x 9 Frankster belongs to previously-published Witchypoo, and while she is stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Peoria Purple, The Frankster is stitched on 30ct hand-dyed Banana Popsicle. He features right, fun Halloween-y colors, and some DMC Black Memory Thread on his pumpkin's smile! Actually, we think that Memory Thread is totally awesome, and it'd be fun on all the spider legs, too!!! Punkin Witch, Crow and Spider from AB Designs Here are three 'Just a Quickie' pumpkins that match those carried by The Frankster and Witchypoo! Offered as small card charts, each little pumpkin is stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Carrot hand-dyed linen, and features the mouth stitched with DMC's Memory Thread. (It's a thread-covered wire that you bend and curl... then simply tack onto your needlework.) Gather Together is a charming country house scene... those Fall Blooms are like NOTHING we've had so far! Paisley Pumpkin is so darn cute... I'm tempted to stitch it without the border, too. We always do our shop models on linen, so we can make hanging pillows out of them...
Mini-Autumn Small Bead Kits from Mill HillThis year's 6 small beaded kit designs are here too! Irate Pirate is quite a switch from designs of the past, and he's just great! The leaves are classy, Trick or Treat is great to add to a Halloween tree of ornaments, Harvest Garden and the Mallard are two more classic designs... and that school picture frame is really a cute and different idea! What a fun way to cherish some old school pictures... stitch these for the Christmas Tree!!! All are offered as small kits, complete with 14ct perforated paper, and all the beads and flosses. These are a great value, because of all the 'stuff' you get in them!
Cauldron Cottage from The Needle's Notion Just a cute thing... I'm thinking if my house looked this 'healthy and plump' with all that lush landscaping... I might wear something a little brighter than black to match it!! Pumpkin blossoms fill the garden... resident black kitty is checking us out... cauldron out front is cooking dinner (just like a Crock Pot!)... for some reason this 7 x 9 design just catches the eye!!! Three Pumpkins! from Prairie Grove PeddlerOh my Gosh, this is the cutest little trio of cross-stitched pumpkins... not too involved... just plump and personable!!! All three size variations are offered in the same chart pack to make all the pumpkins. All finished the same way, one chart is simply more involved than the last. Stitched on Weeks 30ct Carrot linen in DMC flosses... the assembly instructions are included... and I (an non-sewer) even understand them!!! Wool leaves... even an actual stick from your yard complete each pumpkin... the cats, pumpkins, acorns alphabets and candy corns scattered everywhere are so cute! Great Fall color, something different and cute! A Fat Quarter of linen can do 6 to 8 pumpkins! Offered as the chart.
Great Pumpkin! from Threads That Bind Shawn Williams of Threads That Bind has 4 AWESOME new Punch Needle designs that are full of silly Halloween whimsy, and incredibily intense fall color. I chose Great Pumpkin to showcase here... because I love the fact that the moon silhouetting the house is really a big, fat pumpkin!!! Threads That Bind is undoubtedly the best Punch Needle designer out there... her stuff has such great color sense, none of it is too 'busy' or 'sloppy.' She uses good old fashioned DMC flosses in her designs -- so yours WILL turn out looking as good as the original, (you can actually find the thread at a shop!) and her designs all come clearly pre-stamped on HUGE pieces of antiqued Weaver's cloth. (Huge means like a 14 x 16 piece... so you can get it into a nice large hoop or stand.) Of all our shop models... hers are the ones that always draw the comments and inquiries! Make sure you see the other three!
Witches Brew and Owloween from Hinzeit Hinzeit has 7 new releases... colorful and so full of personality, here are two of my favorites! Witches Brew features 4 charms to embellish each of the ever-important ingredient jars -- a spider, bat, a very upset cat, and a scary skull and crossed bones! Talk about 'Mom's Favorite Recipes!!!' Might need this to hang in the kitchen around Halloween time! Owloween is very hard to spell, but easy to stitch for Halloween!!! Fun colors, that serious owl... his charm is a tiny Trick or Treat Bag. Both designs are offered as charts, with their embellishments, and finish approx 3-1/2 x 13.
Halloween Bits from Erica Michaels Erica Michaels has OUTDONE herself with a new set of miniature seasonal designs! Halloween Bits is the first of 6 40ct Silk Gauze designs that all fit into Olde Colonial's tiny 1-1/2 x 2 inch frames! Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and Hanukkah come to mind... her set is fantastic! Anyway, all are debuting at Market next weekend... but she sent the tiny Halloween one NOW, as a teaser! Charted -- so they can be stitched on ANY size fabric... the cut of 40 ct is included with the chart, in case that's your favorite! Luscious overdyed colors from your stash are used -- and as you can imagine -- just little schnibbles of all! ... Watch for the rest of EM's designs in a week or so!

Stitched in overdyed flosses on Weeks 30ct Gunmetal Linen... your three gentlemen have great heads on their shoulders... so you couldn't go wrong with any one of them! Finishing approx 5 x 6, the chart is a freebie WITH the purchase of the Just Another Button Company clay button set. So Darn cute, it's SCARY!
Articulated Characters by Mosey 'n Me! Oh my gosh... check out this set of darling charms -- each has arms and legs that dangle and swing around -- making them come ALIVE!!! Designed by Frank of Mosey 'n Me, Charland has re-created his talents in these tiny works of art! We've had some of these for a few years... but they deserve a bit of special attention because they are truly exquisite, and darn cute! Perfect in sewing cases, on fun stitched pieces, earrings, a necklace... get creative! The Witch is 1-1/2 inches, has moving arms and legs, even striped leggings! The Snowman is 1-3/8 inches, his arms move, and you can see his charcoal briquette mouth! Uncle Sam (I don't think Frank designed this one) stands 1-3/8 of an inch tall, moving legs and arms, and a big old star on his shirt. Mr stoney is amazing! He's 1-3/8 inches, jointed in his stomach. The little bird is just precious... his little legs move... he's only about 7/8 of an inch in size. Quite the fun, little things, I'm sure you can think of a million fun places to use these... or a perfect occasion to give one as a gift! Each is solid sterling, handmade by Charland and her crew!

The Witch's Case features a really cool metal spider web charm on it's front, Weeks Dye Works 30ct Carrot Linen, fuchsia silk linings and the most delightful colors of silks -- both solids and hand-dyeds! The witch is tempting stray Halloween spiders to join her brew! Inside, against the fuchsia silk, you have 4 pockets to store necessary needlework implements. Not tons of stitching, but there are a lot of beads on the edges. The spider on the back is glass!!! Offered as a complete kit of all the fabrics, silks, beads, linings and findings, there is even a color pic of the inside of the case, which is a real help. The Spellbound fob is peyote-stitch bead work. Pretty Wicked might be our very own Nettie Nightshade (in a 'stressed state' right before her Halloween Festivities are scheduled to begin!) She's a green-faced, pickled soul, surrounded by her best friends -- ghosts, jacks, and a bitty spider!!! Stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Peoria Purple linen (which matches Scream House!), her 2-1/2 inch Whimzi frame has been hand-enameled with an orange glaze. It's been accented with a bit of purple spider web paper behind (3-1/2 inches), and then mounted onto a larger piece (5-1/2 inch) of black mat board that has an orange core! Just the most festive little thing, the package includes Nan's original design, and the special enameled frame with paper accents, along with the 6 x 6 cut of the Peoria Purple hand-dyed linen!
Creepy Crawly from Blue Ribbon Designs'The stitching tools from my basket, are laid to rest in this tiny casket!' If this isn't the cutest little set of sewing pieces for Halloween... they are a hoot! Blue Ribbon has created such a fun little set of things... the (almost 5 x 7) casket to hold scissors and threads, a needlecase with a tombstone front, and the 'pushed-up daisies on the back, the black cat pin keep, and the bat scissor fob. When you open your casket, you'll find the 'preserved threads' and a stitched skeleton!!! WAY, WAY cute, this project took a lot of creativity, and it just brings a big smile to your face! 3 Black Cats from Cherrywood Studio Here's a really cute design that is actually a Halloween band sampler that has been finished into an accordian-shaped story book. Stitch the whole thing normally, or break it up into the smaller panels. Each is grommeted and then tied together with pretty ribbon. Framed sampler is worked on 28ct Lambswool, and measures approx 4-1/2 x 11. The book is stitched on 30ct Weeks Dye Works Carrot hand-dyed, each page measuring approx 3 x 4. Frost on the Pumpkin from Just Nan What a cute little guy... our little snowman grows from the frozen dew that frosts our fall pumpkins!!! Nan has released a cute Whimzi-sized 2 x 2 design stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Scuppernong hand-dyed linen. Offered as the chart with bead and crystal embellishments and the linen cut, you can find a Whimzi frame in your stash, or mount him in Nan's pewter frame that features orange flowers. Fun as a fob, this is a very quick-stitch, and full of Nan's personality!
All About Halloween from Homespun Elegance This little cat is The Cutest! Stitched on 10ct Black Tula in shades of Weeks overdyed flosses or #5 Perle, the cat is stitched, then simply sewn around the edge and stuffed. They cut away the excess fabric and FRINGED him! He is precious!!!!! (and measures a life-size of 11 x 8!) Of course, you can do the whole thing in the monochromatic theme that is also shown on the cover... but look at how much personality that cat delivers!!!!! Offered as the chart.
AAH NUTS! from Trail Creek Farm Susan Ebright of Trail Creek Farm has outdone herself this season with a classy acorn-shaped pillow design! One of her 'Plumpers'... she has created the entire pillow -- a 'hand-made, ready-made' acorn that measures approx 13 high x 13 wide x 6 plump -- even before the stem and bow top treatments. Topper fabric (acorn cap) is a milk chocolate tweed fabric, acorn bottom is a plaid medley of taupe, coffee, brick and teal. Next, comes the lavish bow and raffia -- its already tied for you! The featured design -- AAH NUTS! is stitched on 30ct hand-dyed Weeks linen. Susan has hand-screened some very subtle letters on the linen... can you see them in the photo? THEN... you stitch the cute sayings and scattered motifs everywhere -- again using overdyed flosses -- tiny acorns and squirrels galore! The colors are luscious -- reflecting all the colors of the plaid below. Then, turn under edges, iron a bit of interfacing of you want to, and attach using the 4 fabric-covered buttons provided in the kit! Murky Manor from Glendon Place This is quite the busy 'party-house'... all decked out for Halloween! By Glendon Place, Murky Manor finishes a whopping 12 x 13 inches, and is stitched in 47 shades of DMC with touches of metallics and beads. The colors are bright and bold, and the general activity of the house is charming! See the skulls on the fence posts? You can either stitch them, or use Just Another Button company's skull buttons!!! Bone Appetit from The Cricket Collection Well... never trust a skinny cook! Chefs 'Click' and 'Clack' are stirring up a big pot of haunting stew... that YOU are welcome to try! (I'm on a diet!) What a fun kitchen decoration to offer a lighthearted warning that this IS the haunting time of year... 'and one must beware of that which is simmering in the soup pot!' Stitched on 30ct hand-dyed, it uses regular DMC flosses, finishes approx 9 x 9, and has a couple of little blackbird embellishments. Spook-A-Boo from The Cat's Whiskers Studio Another charming piece by The Cat's Wiskers Design Studio, this piece is shown on a box top, but would be neat framed, or simply made into its own little opening box! The Halloween design is full of ghosts, cats, spiders, and witch boots and hats. You'll see flaps in the center, all tied with that green bow... untie the bow, and the flaps float open to reveal the secret message inside... BOO! Again, you have to put up with my descriptions until Lindy is back, but I think you'll have more than enough to decide that this is a very cool set of Halloween designs that you must have for your stash. Based on the legendary poem, Sleepy Hollow is shown stitched on 3 panels, totaling about 15 inches wide! Autumn Snapperland!from Bent Creek 'Autumn is a second Spring, when every leaf is a flower.' Bent Creek's final celebration of the Four Seasons -- in Snapper Card Designs! Presented in 4 small individual designs, Harvest Time is the first, with the barnyard and scarecrow outside. Autumn Walk is the second... the trees wander and follow the hikers a bit. Pumpkin Hunt and Turkey Farm finished it up!!! Each square design is a small 'Snapper' card, that includes a snap as its embellishment. Tying all these small squares together is the complimentary border chart and embellishment package... just like we have been treated to for Winter, Spring and Summer Snapperlands!!! A really cool series... we just finished an auto-ship for the rest of the cards in this set.
Pretty Pumpkins from Glendon Place Have you ever seen a more festive collection of pumpkins????? New from Glendon Place is this such an incredible design full of 52 colors of 'good ol DMC' floss! Swirls and paisleys, checkerboard stems and shaded leaves, the color and details are just wonderful! Stitched on a light-ish green -- you can use hand-dyeds or some of the Zweigart green linens -- this finishes approx 10 x 15 on a 32ct. Just gorgeous, you could get ambitious and stitch the entire thing, or simply the right or left pumpkin by itself. Offered as the chart, it's a definite -- at least for your stash, if not your walls!

Autumn in the Square from Just Nan Wow... Nan's fourth and final Season in the Square is here, and it's luscious! (We'd had our hands on the model when she was here for Queen of the Needle, and I wished we could have just hung onto it...!) On Duty from Country Threads He's watching the pumpkins... crows circling overhead... the early Autumn sky promising a star-filled evening sky... all is well in the field! Done in DMC flosses, this is one that our Antiquing Finish Spray would be good with -- to add just a subtle undertone of 'dirt' and 'age!' Witch Boot? from Prairie Moon Oh my gosh, this is absolutely Over-The-Top Funky and Halloween Cute! (There is a companion boot/stocking to this -- Mr BonesJangle -- pictured on the Prairie Moon page, so don't miss it!) Stitched on 30ct 18th Century Rook Hand-dyed linen by R & R (pricey, but really cool)... in Weeks overdyed flosses and a touches of steel gray and purple metallics, this HAS to be finished into the cool shape you see in the pic... it is just so fun and different!!! Offered as the chart, it's presented actual size, so you have the perfect outline stencil/shape for your boot. Then... check out all the fun things going on in here! A haunted house with a spooky tree in the yard, the RIP, silly little bat and nasty-looking spider... its all to complement the 'lady of the house and boot'... the little witch! The stitch count is 173 x 129, but the actual boot will measure approx 10 x 14. Buttons & Beads for Fall 2006 from Mill Hill The Mill Hill 2006 collection for Fall is here!!! An excellent set this year... Boo House is stitched on black perforated paper, Trick or Treat Collage is on deep green, and the rest are on the favorite brown. We always do our shop models on linen... so we'll choose the corresponding 28ct colors to the paper. Loaded with great oranges, purples, blacks and golds... the set includes a great haunted house -- complete with flying ghosts, and a colorful cornucopia. Quite a bit of the stitching for these is done in floss -- but the other is all beading. Such a pretty effect, especially if you have a place for them that lets them catch the light. Those beads just glisten! Several of the frames shown in the model pics are decorated with the smaller bead kits that are also new this year. Make sure to click the pics to see everything. All are offered as complete kits of the chart, 14ct perforated paper, tons of beads, all the flosses and necessary Mill Hill handmade buttons. We have always done our shop models on linen instead of the paper, and finished these into doorknob hanging pillows, or something for the kitchen windowsill. Autumn Harvest Mini-Kits for 2006 from Mill Hill Mill Hill's set of mini-ornaments and pins for Fall and Halloween 2006 are here! Quite a nice batch, each is offered as the complete kit of chart, perforated paper, beads and more beads, flosses and any necessary Treasure embellishments. Each of these features a small cross-stitched piece that is cut out separately, and then sewn on top of the stitching already done... so there is a 3-dimensional quality. The Boo Ghost is cute, the Halloween House is really cute, and the Plaid Pumpkin tops the list as my personal favorite! Each finishes approx 2 x 2... cute as little ornaments or pins.

(Dead skeleton, I guess, is redundant, isn't it?) Absolutely over-the-top with rich reds, oranges, rusts, chartreuse, and purples, the spooky Halloween garden is filled with spiders, ghosts, cats and toads... quite different than the spring garden of High Hopes!!! Halloween Kitty from The Sunflower Seed What a silly grin sported on each of our featured guests!!! We stitched our model of this on an outrageous hot neon orange hand-dyed linen -- and believe it or not -- the bright colors all look good together! The red stars, yellow moon, orange Jack-o-Lantern and Black Cat all POP on that bright linen!!! Stitch something they'll notice from across the room... they'll think you're nuts... but this IS cute! Thankful Sheep from Shepherd's Bush One of four new mini-designs by Shepherd's Bush... Thankful Sheep joins the family of other little sheepies for the holidays!!! (We have a patriotic one, a Halloween one... and a few others, I believe!) Anyway, Thankful is standing beside the Mayflower, and he's dressed with his Sunday Best Pilgrim Hat! (A cute clay button!) Nuts Stitch Here from Trail Creek Farm Oh my Gosh... this is the cutest little acorn pillow... and it even has a matching square-tasseled pillow companion! Nuts Stitch Here is one of Trail Creek Farm's new Plumper Pillows - you get the already made and stuffed little pillow with the four already-covered fabric buttons, the ribbon hanger, luscious hand-dyed Colorscapes Linen, fabric to line the back of your stitching, acorn charm, and chart for this appropriate design. All you add is an hour or two of stitching and the schnibblets of overyded floss. After you stitch, just button it onto the finished pillow, and your DONE!!! The acorn pillow measures approx 6 x 7 x 3, and features a hanger that's large enough to fit around a doorknob. Wonderful browns and greens... this is sooo fun!

The orange plaid pumpkin pillow that measures a whopping 12 x 12 x 6-ish inches is already made and stuffed. Your kit contains the pillow, the raffia tie for the bow, chart, acorn charm, the backing fabric to line your stitching, all along with the four covered buttons for the needlework as well! Darling... the little design measures just a bit over 3 x 3... but has such a cool, impressive presentation. Very well done!
Sweet Tooth from Raise the Roof This is quite the happy Jack-O-Lantern!!! The candy-loving guy is sporting a mouthful of delicious clay buttons from Just Another Button Company, and luscious overdyeds by the Gentle Art! Finished into a great big stand-up box by our very own Mona... Sweet Tooth finishes approx 8 x 8, and will make a dynamite Halloween decoration. Offered in leaflet format, the buttons are available separately... and our model is done on 28ct Cobblestone, and we have that as well. Spooky Spots from Shepherd's Bush Oh, I love this set of patterns... joining French Heart, Thoughtful Heart and Patriotic Thoughts spot motif samplers already published... this is a medley of the alphabet, intermingled with all sorts of tiny Fall and Halloween motifs that match the letters! Stitched on 32ct Autumn Blush hand-dyed linen, the complete kit features silks from Gloriana, and Soie D'Alger, and hand-dyed Silk 'n Colors by Threadgatherer. All are rich browns, weathered plums, burnt cinnamon, light caramel, and some mossy greens -- such a pretty fall color palette! Finishing approx 5 x 6-1/2, the design features some clay buttons, too, a little bat, jack-o-lantern, tiny witch hat, and a star. Look closely, there are words stuck in there all over the place, as well as lots of fun stitches for added interest! This is just like all the rest in this set... you keep finding things each time you look at it, and it's fun to stitch because of all the busy-ness in it!!! Autumn Garden Sampler from The Victoria Sampler The Fall garden in VS's series of delightful, skinny little samplers, this one is just as cute as all the rest! The eighth so far (Rose Arbor, Cottage, Butterfly, Woodland, Noah's, Winter, and Seaside are the others...) this is stuffed full of tiny details and motifs. Winter Garden, taught by our Gale, is our featured Linen Stitching class this Fall in the shop! Anyhow, the overdyed cottons and silks used are yummy, (burnt orange, sable, mulberry, harvest grape...!) the piece measures a mere 2 x 8, and is an absolute delight to stitch because of all the variety of stitches and textures. You never get tired of any of it, because the rows are all so short, they finish in a jiff! Miniature pumpkins, scarecrows, birds and acorns... very cute! Offered as the leaflet with thread packet.
All Hallow's Night from Birds of a Feather This year's totally, awesomely scary pumpkin faces join our other two Halloween favorites by Birds of A Feather! The same flavor as Scared Silly and Fat Cat, All Hallow's Night is stitched on the very distressed hand-dyed linen of 32ct Sparrow, dyed by 'Birds.' Great, bright overdyed colors of Weeks Dye Works flosses, I don't know what about these draws people -- you either love them, or can't stand them!!! (I hope you're of the former!!!) Anyway, available as a single chart, we do carry the fabric -- which is just one of the most wonderful shades of hand-dyed linen available -- and COLORFAST!!!
Witchy-Washy from Raise the Roof Here's a delightful new design from a new design team, that is just charming!!! Witchy-Washy is the clothesline of ... possibly your favorite teenager??? We've just smiled when this came in this week! Stitched on 28ct linen -- choose something with a little color, if you like -- this finishes approx 7 x 15, and features a fun set of clay button embellishments from Just Another Button Co. (Bats, crows, pumpkins, a cat, spiders... etc) Wouldn't this be cute in a laundry room??? The skirt and bra really DO remind me of my 16-yr-old daughter's clothes, and I think this would be cute in her bathroom, too!!! Haunted House & Halloween from Hinzeit Two scary releases by Hinzeit... these are charming... just like their package contents! Each is available as a chart and includes all the silver-toned charms shown, as embellishments. Halloween finishes a whopping 5 x 26 on 28ct, Haunted House runs a bit smaller at 3 x 13. Just something fun and fast for the season!!
Fat Cat from Birds of a Feather Too many treats is no joke with this one! Check out the stomach on this gluttonous little kitty... you can see all his favorite Halloween treats in there! A primitive look, stitched on 32ct hand-dyed Sparrow linen in Week's Dye works overdyeds, you either like this Halloween look, or you really, really don't! He's available as a single sheet leaflet, and measures approx 7 x 9 when he's done. So cute and colorful, and really unique!

Scared Silly from Birds Of A Feather This truly a silly design that looks really scary!!! That primitive pumpkin has startled the otherwise-calm cat sitting on him... and you see the result! Stitched on an exclusive 32ct hand-dyed linen, in Weeks Dye Works overdyed flosses, the embellishments are Mill Hill candy corn buttons which adorn the frame. (They'd be perfect on a pillow edge, too, if you'd rather finish it that way.) Just a silly little thing!
Batty Hatty & Boo from Just Nan Just one of the newest from Just Nan. A creative Halloween band sampler, she is available in a leaflet, with an embellishment pack, along with several other new patterns we've featured on our Just Nan page. Also exciting, for Nan's angel collectors, is Grace -- this year's small angel. Enjoy! Spooky Row Another very long and thin alphabet by Bent Creek, Spooky Row is full of the cutest Halloween motifs! The cauldron at one end... and my absolute favorite -- that little buzzard/vulture guy down at the other -- this is stitched in black, browns, oranges and creme overdyeds. Spooky Row by Bent Creek now has a package of embellishments! A darling set, it includes quite a few new clay pieces from Just Another Button Company. Notice the cute Jack-o-Lantern guy, and those new "Wild" pumpkins! Cute, each Row-Pack, dreamed up by the gals at Abecedarious in Atlanta, really adds a lot of charm to this series of Bent Creek Rows! The entire series of "Row Designs" is so much fun to have!
